About the Book

Molly McKenzie's bright personality and on-trend fashion and beauty advice have made her a major social media influencer. When her manager-turned-boyfriend tells her of an upcoming audition to host a makeover show for America's underprivileged youth, all her dreams finally seem to be coming true. There's just one catch: she has little experience interacting with people in need.

To gain an edge on her competitors, she plans to volunteer for the summer at a transitional program for aged-out foster kids, but the program's director, Silas Whittaker, doesn't find her as charming as her followers do. Despite his ridiculous rules and terms, Molly dives into mentoring, surprising herself with the genuine connections and concern she quickly develops for the girls--and Silas. But just as everything seems perfectly aligned for her professional future, it starts to crumble under the pressure. And as her once-narrow focus opens to the deep needs of those she's come to know, she must face the ones she's neglected inside herself for so long.

About the Author :
Nicole Deese is a lover of fiction. When she isn't writing--or daydreaming about writing--she can be found curled up and reading on a sofa. She often fantasizes about "reading escapes," which look a lot like kid-free, laundry-free, and cooking-free vacations. A girl can dream, right? She lives in Frisco, Texas, with her hunk of a husband, Tim, and her two rowdy boys, Preston and Lincoln. Michael Braun is an experienced and versatile narrator with over one hundred credits on Audible (both under his name as well as various pseudonyms) in genres ranging from thrillers to young adult, science fiction to romance. Justis Bolding was born in Green Bay, Wisconsin. She is an American actress known for her role as Sarah Roberts on One Life to Live (2007-2009). James Babson has accumulated nearly twenty years of professional experience since graduating from the Carnegie Mellon School of Drama with a BFA in acting. In recent years, James has made appearances in dozens of acclaimed television shows, including Brooklyn Nine Nine, Silicon Valley, I Think You Should Leave, Timeless, Chance, For the People, Room 104, Criminal Minds, 9-11, and NCIS. Notable film roles include Dan Zuckerberg in The Words starring Bradley Cooper and Zoe Saldana, Fat Jim in Last Knights, starring Clive Owen and Morgan Freeman, Rudolf Hess in the critically acclaimed CBS miniseries Hitler: The Rise of Evil, opposite Robert Carlyle, and Agent Moss in Guillermo del Toro's Hellboy. In voice-over, Mr. Babson developed a devoted fan base for voicing the iconic character Sun Jiang for the popular Dynasty Warriors video game franchise. He also added his talents to the Bio Shock universe voicing Louie in Bio Shock 2. For Netflix, James has provided the English language dubbing for over thirty shows, including the role of Angel in the wildly popular global sensation Money Heist. James has also recorded hundreds of audiobooks under his own name as well as various aliases. Most recently, James narrated Danielle Steel's New York Times bestseller Palazzo as well of Bruce Borgo's acclaimed The Bitter Past. James currently works and resides in Los Angeles.

Review :

"Deese combines to great effect her bracing take on those affected by foster care and Molly's personal evolution. Fans of Rachel Hauck should take a look."
