About the Book

"Personally, I think we created evolution ourselves so that we could be together in the first place. Instead of being lonely spirits cast out in the middle of space. Natural selection or unnatural selection, it doesn't matter-we make our decisions and that leads to evolution." When Keller Mod brings a corpse back to life, the story hits media channels and he finds himself on the run from a phantom caller who wishes to hire him. Giving in to curiosity and extortion, Keller gets caught in a morbid world connected to his childhood, and is lethally tasked-he must contact a flatlining victim and bring them back to life. But not to their usual self-to their clone. Keller races against time to uncover and escape the phantom caller but finds that to do so, he must also make peace with his past.

About the Author :
Peter Kiesners was born and raised in Canada of Latvian parents during that golden period between the first color TV and the beginning of Internet-a time when fuel for dreams overflowed. A creative at heart, he went on to study the arts in five different institutions. Unsatisfied, he went out to work at over 30 jobs varying from portrait artist, photographer, and designer through to videographer and chef. He lived in five countries in areas ranging from Manhattan to the backcountry woods of Ontario to the Rockies, finally settling in an English village with his wife and daughter, and on a career in writing where those dreams take on a life of their own.

Review :
"A modern Frankenstein tale where Peter Kiesners writes with empathy, this psychic mystery unravels with well-placed breadcrumbs of intrigue." -Ryan Morgan Miller, author of The Vain Curse "A fascinating blend of Flatliners and Travelers, Scorpion Grass takes readers to a world where the line between life and death is blurred." -Kim McCollum, author of What Happens In Montana
