About the Book

Follow GBI Special Agent Daniel Byrd in Zero One, the fourth installment of the Daniel Byrd Adventures series-and the explosive final chapter of the Texas Trilogy. Family and friends. What will you do for your friends, and how far will you go for your family? After a brutal double homicide in Texas leaves a child missing, GBI Special Agent Daniel Byrd is pulled into the kind of case he never forgets-the kind that ends in blood. Partnering with Texas law enforcement, Byrd races against time to find the missing girl before her captor disappears into the mountains for good. As the manhunt crosses state lines and plunges deep into the rural Southeast, Byrd must rely on his instincts, a few old allies, and one dangerous secret buried in his past. But with federal agents circling, media attention growing, and pressure from every side, Byrd knows one wrong move could cost them everything. From the dark corners of the Georgia mountains to the courtroom where the truth finally comes to light, Zero One delivers a relentless, emotionally charged thriller about justice, duty, and the cost of chasing monsters-and the final reckoning in Byrd's most dangerous pursuit yet.

About the Author :
Phillip W. Price began his law enforcement career with the City of Canton, Georgia, Police Department in late 1974 (at the age of nineteen). On January 1, 1976, Price was hired as a radio operator for the Georgia State Patrol assigned to the Headquarters Communications Center. On January 8, 1978, Price transferred to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) as a special agent. Price retired as a Special Agent in Charge (SAC) in 2006. After a stint as a traveling consultant, conducting training on methamphetamine manufacture, Price was hired as the task force commander for the Cherokee Multi-Agency Narcotics Squad (CMANS) in May of 2010. Price retired on December 17, 2021. In 2021, Price completed his first novel, "Mountain Justice." The setting for the story is the North Georgia Mountains, and the story follows a young GBI agent, Daniel Byrd, who uncovers corruption and murder in the otherwise idyllic setting. Price followed the first novel with "A Little Bit Kin," the tale of a methamphetamine cook who gets in over his head. The drug disruption scheme spirals out of control, and GBI Agent Byrd is left to pick up the pieces. Much of the novel revolves around the world of methamphetamine abuse and the lifestyle that goes with it. Price's third novel, "Self Rescue," follows Byrd around Georgia as he pursues a CIA contract officer who dabbles in methamphetamine smuggling from the Mexican border to the Peach State. Soon, Byrd ends up on the Texas/Mexican border in a fight for his life. Price's fourth novel, "Asphalt Blues," continues the investigation into the drug enterprise that the GBI and Texas authorities uncovered between El Paso and Atlanta. "Asphalt Blues" received the Literary Titan Gold Award in 2024.Drawing from real events and his own professional career in law enforcement, Price delivers authentic, lived-in portrayals of police work-capturing how officers think, speak, and operate with a level of accuracy rarely seen in the genre.Price has an Associate in Arts degree from Reinhardt University, a Bachelor of Science degree from North Georgia University, and a Master's degree in public administration from Columbus State University. Price has appeared on One America News Network and Salem Cable News Network.
