About the Author :
Dennis Smith is a retired New York City firefighter. He stayed in the fire department an additional nineteen years after the success of his first book, Report from Engine Co. 82. He is the author of numerous books including several other bestsellers about firefighting. He founded Firehouse Magazine and has become an outstanding spokesman for firefighters nationwide. He is currently chairman of First Responders Financial Company and lives in New York City. Eric Conger is a stage actor, voice artist, and award-winning audiobook narrator. He has narrated more than 125 fiction and nonfiction audiobooks and was a four-time finalist for the Audie Award, both as a sole narrator in 2007 and 2008 and as part of a multicast reading in 2001 and 2012. He has earned numerous AudioFile Earphones Awards. His extensive voice-over work includes more than 5,000 narrations for commercial ventures. A graduate of Wesleyan University and the University of Paris, he also works as a writer and playwright. He has appeared in over fifty plays and has also translated plays of Molière and Feydeau for regional theaters. Don Leslie has appeared on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theaters throughout the country. He has been heard in thousands of commercials, promos for all the broadcast networks and most cable stations, political campaigns, movie trailers, and over fifty audiobooks. Beth McDonald, a Juilliard graduate, has appeared across the country in regional theatre productions of plays by Shakespeare, Neil Simon, Sophocles, Arthur Miller, Moliere, A. R.Gurney, Euripides, and others. Her Broadway credits include the original cast of Angels in America, A Few Good Men, and Einstein and the Polar Bear. Her television work includes appearances on Law & Order, Third Watch, and The Courtroom as well as recurring roles on All My Children and As the World Turns. She has appeared in Mona Lisa Smile and several independent feature films. An Earphones Award-winner, Beth has read a number of audiobooks including Susan Faludi's The Terror Dream, Sandra Brown's Sunny Chandler's Return, Tami Hoag's Dark Horse, and Elisabeth Hyde's The Abortionist's Daughter. Jennifer Jay Myers is an award-winning voice-over artist. She graduated from Northwestern University where she studied singing and acting and then moved to New York to pursue musical theater. Myers has appeared in many shows including Nunsense, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Godspell, Do Black Patent Leather Shoes Really Reflect Up?, and Fiddler on the Roof, among others. When she's not working, she volunteers with animal rescue. She and her husband, writer Chris Grabenstein, share their home with four wonderful rescued animals (three cats and a dog). Paula Parker, an Earphones Award-winning narrator, is an actress whose stage credits include The Debate, Maggie Flynn, and Four to Make Two. Her television credits feature All My Children, Guiding Light, One Life to Live, and Another World. Among her films are Coupe de Torchon and The Family. Charles Stransky has appeared on and off-Broadway as well as in regional theatres throughout the United States. On film, he can be seen in The Spanish Prisoner, Homicide, Things Change, Anger Management, and Pastime. His countless television appearances include Ed, Third Watch, Newhart, Murphy Brown, Frank's Place, My Sister Sam, and All My Children. Charles audiobook credits include Ed McBain's Fiddlers, Loren D. Estleman's Poison Blonde, and Matthew Brzezinski's Red Moon Rising.
