About the Book
Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free. --John 8:32
Roxane Battle knows a little something about telling the truth to herself.
As a mental health advocate inside the largest behavioral health corporation in the world, Roxane knows the journey toward mental well-being starts with being honest--honest about where we are, how we feel, what we want, and what we're willing to do to get there.
After spending decades as an Emmy-nominated television news anchor and reporter, she knows the reality of losing one's professional identity and the depression that follows.
At one point, as a struggling divorced single mom, all Roxane had for dinner was a single chicken nugget. Pockets of Joy is her honest account of her own struggles with anxiety, loneliness, and depression, and what she did to get back to a place of mental well-being. Today, Roxane speaks to people all over the globe about her mental health journey. With detail, humor, and engaging storytelling, Roxane tells the truth about how faith and perseverance helped her find soul-inspiring pockets of joy. And you can too.
It all starts with the truth.
