About the Book

Big changes are on the way, but no one knows it. Gracie Butterfly, Rosie Ladybug, Jumpy Cricket, and Harvey Bee are only concerned with their own selfish needs, but the storm gets their attention. They chose to help each other survive. When the Butterfly Bush where they were living blows over, they lose their food and shelter. Follow their journey to see when each bug realizes how courageous they are and what they learn about themselves. They discover that a bad situation can bring a new and better life. The lessons from these little bugs encourage us to care for one another in a kinder way. When one experiences life changes due to relocation, displacement by natural disasters, or everyday events, finding a way to work together in a new environment is a great lesson for all ages. Included in the book is a journal and discussion questions that will help families document events that have impacted them. Big Changes For Little Bugs is a book that will help families discover hidden talents, and journal changes in their life. You might be a ballerina, or a musician, or a mathematician, or a peace officer.

About the Author :
Author Karen Giles Clark spent her childhood as a Missionary Kid overseas, where she endured many relocations. She still struggles to put down permanent roots due to the many times she has relocated because of job transfers. Her insight has given her strategies to cope and flourish with each new adventure. Her strong faith has been the foundation that has allowed her to grow and thrive in each situation. As a Professional Home Stager, she has assisted families as they prepare to move, and provides them with this book to help children cope with the emotional process of starting over. Her previous writings can be found in personal blogs and Bible study lessons. The storm in Big Changes For Little Bugs, was inspired by an actual event that took place at her home after the hurricanes of 2017. The displacement and loss that families in the affected areas experienced moved her to write this book to bring hope, humor, and encouragement to children. Learning to make adjustments after a life change is a skill that is helpful at any age. Courage, kindness, being generous, and being a peacemaker, are qualities that develop through hardship. The storms will come in life, but the rain always brings new growth and new life. Karen lives in Watkinsville, Georgia, with her husband, Tom. Her four grandchildren inspire her to write for all children who must face change courageously. Her life goal is to plant seeds of peace and reap a harvest of goodness. James 3:18
