About the Book

Chris Janssen’s USA Today bestseller Grace Yourself is a guide for anyone struggling with addiction to move beyond self-limiting behavior into a life of fullness and freedom. Alcohol had a hold on Chris Janssen’s actions and thoughts until she made the life-changing decision to attend a support meeting and realized two truths: it wasn’t her fault and she wasn’t alone. Once she was embraced by a community that offered a nonjudgmental look at her struggles, Chris discovered that if she wanted to have a full and lasting life, alcohol could have no part. In Grace Yourself, a humble account of Chris’s transformation to an alcohol-free life, she offers a hand to others who are experiencing similar struggles, whether their addiction is alcohol or anything else. With heaps of grace, Chris shares the ups and downs of her journey while teaching you how to get curious and ask questions that move you forward. There is zero shame in her approach, and her expertise in coaching will help you let go of what’s holding you back so you can live a full and free life. Grace Yourself will help you: Get crystal clear on what you want and why you want it. Identify limiting beliefs keeping you stuck. Create sustainable narratives that serve you and your goals. This is a book for recovering sobriety after relapse, recovering perfectionists, and for anyone who desires to release controlling thoughts. Grace Yourself will help you realize that your worth is not dependent upon your actions or mistakes but, rather, your value and power is within you now to live the extraordinary life you want.

Review :
"Grace Yourself by Chris Janssen is a deeply personal yet universally resonant journey from addiction to freedom, offering readers a compassionate and empowering roadmap to sobriety. It’s told through raw storytelling and gentle coaching wisdom. Janssen chronicles her breakthrough into recovery, not by chasing perfection, but by embracing grace. The book provides practical tools for identifying limiting beliefs, cultivating curiosity, and reshaping inner narratives without shame or blame. A guiding light for anyone seeking to recover from addiction, manage relapse, or shed harmful self-talk, Grace Yourself affirms that healing begins with self-acceptance and the courage to show up for the life you truly want: one choice, one moment, one breath at a time. Janssen has a way of speaking directly to her reading audience that feels like a trusted friend is letting you in on their achieved wisdom, offering an honest, heartfelt, and healing tale that will certainly be a must-read for anyone facing addiction or self-doubt. The key feelings you take from Janssen’s text are always vulnerability and insight, as she lets you peek behind the curtain on some dark moments indeed, but these are so relatable to anyone who has struggled with substances. What results is a rare blend of inspiration and actionable guidance grounded in true compassion and real-life experience, and it’s a work that I’m sure will empower its readers to break free from perfectionism and shame with a radical kind of grace. Overall, I would certainly recommend Grace Yourself as a powerful companion on the journey to sobriety and self-worth that deserves a place in the home of anyone making this change."  "Grace Yourself is a smart and well-written guidebook for those struggling with addiction issues. Consistently encouraging and inspiring, it makes for an extremely useful addition to the self-help and substance abuse rehabilitation canon. Janssen exudes a charismatic yet understanding manner throughout this effective resource...a bold alcohol recovery guidebook offering uplifting, practical advice." "Ortberg has endorsed another book addressing addiction, whether to alcohol, perfectionism or anything else. It's titled Grace Yourself: How to Show Up for the Sober Life You Want by Chris Janssen (Mission Driven Press, Feb.). Janssen describes her transition to sobriety and offers the same transforming help to her readers as they discover the value and power residing within." "Chris Janssen walks us through the complexities and confusion surrounding addiction and growth and recovery with grace and humility and patience and honesty. She also brings wisdom that has ancient roots and is research-informed. This is a compelling invitation to sobriety at its best and most joyful."   “No matter where you’ve been, what you’ve done, or whether you are stuck in an addictive pattern or not, you are worthy of love and belonging. In Grace Yourself, Chris Janssen writes like a trusted friend, reminding you that grace can’t be earned, change is possible, and you already have everything you need to move toward the life you want.” “She’s done it again! Chris has opened the window of her journey towards sobriety and challenged us to go deeper into our own journeys with her to a place of freedom and grace. Chris does this with vulnerability to her learnings and gives us practical ways that draw us into places we want to go but lack the skill or courage to go alone. Read at the risk of discovery and freedom. Go ahead...grace yourself!” "Grace Yourself is a piece of hope for anyone stuck in an addictive cycle or close to someone who is suffering. The book offers compassionate insights combined with practical tools to empower readers to embrace their value. With true empathy and wisdom, Chris Janssen gives a compelling insight to the complexities and realities of recovery, giving readers the comforting realization that healing is diffcult but possible! I would recommend this book to anyone who is affected either directly or indirectly with addiction / negative cycles.” “No matter what has left you feeling powerless—alcohol, food, exercise, substances—Chris Janssen’s Grace Yourself will help you regain your power. Through her own remarkably honest personal story combined with her wisdom gained through her work as a life coach, Chris guides the reader through the psychology of addiction to change what you might believe and help you rewrite your story. Whether you yourself are struggling with unhealthy lifestyle choices, or know someone who is, this book is a must read for anyone wanting to understand themselves or those they love. Filled with exercises, information and reflection, it is a transformational read that should be on everyone’s list.” “There are so many meaningful and introspective takeaways from Chris Janssen’s book. No matter what you may be working through and striving to overcome, this book will guide you through it by providing key messages and tools to bolster self-worth and inspiring the innate desire to grow and evolve. It's never too late to make a change in your life, and Chris' personal story—along with her selflessness in giving back—is an incredible roadmap for doing just that." “Life is a messy mix of beauty and chaos simultaneously. I believe in showing up at work, home, and in community as the same person. With a recent choice to live alcohol free after years of unknowingly using my own vices to cope with overwhelm, stress, and daily struggles, I believe this is a book everyone should read. In Grace Yourself, Chris Janssen shares stories and lessons from her personal and professional life, blending her pains and celebrations in combination with her coaching tools. The perfect balance of relatability and actionable take-a-ways. This book will highlight the purpose in all the things that make you, YOU! It is a necessary reminder that every chapter in your story is worthy and with purpose!”

A Thrilling But Totally Believable Murder Mystery

Read this in one evening. I had planned to do other things with my day, but it was impossible to put down. Every time I tried, I was drawn back to it in less than 5 minutes. I sobbed my eyes out the entire last 100 pages. Highly recommend!
