About the Book

This book explores my experience on my first "career job." I was thrilled to land a paid internship with a company and excited to work toward what I thought was my life's purpose. However, while this story doesn't end in "happily ever after" mode, I did gain a true and personal relationship with my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I'll also note that the book goes into details of my own experience and maybe a trigger for anyone struggling with depression or similar issues. I want readers to feel ready to delve safely into my story and only when they feel it's appropriate to do so. Most importantly, after all I've been through, I still believe in God's merciful love, the power of friendships, and hope for a brighter tomorrow. It is in this spirit of healing that I share my journey with you. Endorsement: To say that God can bring healing and transformation to a horrible situation is an understatement. Knowing her story and after reading the poetry written by the woman I love all I could think about was "This is not the woman I married." Hali Ann has grown so much and has even grabbed her demons and kissed them on the lips. Her words are raw and straight to the point. She shows she has had her major downs and major highs. While this is part of her, it does not define her or control her. Knowing what Hali has been through and seeing her words on paper, I can see what God is doing. He is healing, loving, growing, and using her for his glory. I see the hurt she has been through and still has some struggle with, but I see the healing more. This is the Hali Ann that I married. % Josh Swatzell (Hali's Husband) About the Author: Hali Ann Swatzell received her bachelor's degree in interior architecture and works at a local firm. Realizing God's will for her life, she turned to writing to help encourage and uplift other women and men who are struggling with sexual abuse/trauma. Her overall goal is to help at least one person feel a little less alone in the world. She currently lives in East Tennessee with her husband.ÿÞ

Review :
To say that God can bring healing and transformation to a horrible situation is an understatement. ─ Josh Swatzell (Hali's Husband) After All I Have Been Through is the raw and honest telling of one woman's journey of faith after sexual assault. Hali bravely bares her lowest moments to inspire others and show evidence of redemption after a tragedy. Throughout Hali's story, God's presence is evident. He constantly placed the right people in her life at the right time to help her along and keep her afloat. While Hali has been unable to find worldly justice for what happened to her, she has found heavenly peace in Christ. ─ MaryGrace McKissick (Hali's Best Friend) After All I've Been Through is an honest account of one young woman's journey through the confusion and destruction of sexual abuse at the hands of a superior in the workplace. As she presents her story, the author weaves snippets of dated journaled thoughts and poems, revealing her vulnerable progression through the stages of grief and loss that accompany sexual abuse, which is often overlooked, ignored, or misunderstood by those surrounding the victim. This pathway of pain leads the author to run headlong into the embrace of her Redeemer Who desires to show her what true and unconditional Love looks like. It is in the arms of Jesus she finds true love, acceptance, compassion, joy, healing, and renewed hope that He is making all things new. ─ Sherry Wright (Hali's Mentor) Hali's authenticity about her story gives the ability to see the raw, fragile innocence that she bravely shares with her readers. Her journey has been challenging, yet she clearly sees God's hand and allows Him to be glorified through circumstances that might cause someone else to be angry at Him. Her pursuit of justice shows that, even if we don't always obtain that in this life, we can release that need for justice to God and allow Him to give us the peace of Christ. She is exchanging bitterness for trust. It's so refreshing. ─ Sonya C Higgs (Manager of Christian Book & Gift Shop) Hali offers her readers a valuable look into her innermost pain. Her story of growth and forgiveness is not just for those of us that are broken but is vital for all of us if we wish to stop perpetuating hurt and sit with our friends who suffer. ─ Leya Martinez (Director of Communications & Church Life at Redeemer Community Church)
