About the Book

The Eucharist is no mere symbol. It is the key to life. More specifically, it is the key to your very identity. When we look carefully at the Blessed Sacrament, under the signs of bread and wine, we discover that we were made not simply to receive God, to be nourished by his gifts, or to draw close to him. In fact, "we were made to become Him." In Your Eucharistic Identity, Father Gregory Pine shows that Christ, through the Sacrament, divinizes us in our whole being. But the Eucharist is not magic. We have to receive the gift of his Eucharistic presence, and preparing for such a great banquet requires time, work, and attention. To become like Christ, we must be ready to be given to others, in a free, radical gift of love. Father Pine's sacramental guide to the fullness of life--at once thought-provoking and practical, ancient and new--offers Christians a simple, clear guide for their path.

About the Author :
Fr. Gregory Pine, O.P., is a professor of dogmatic and moral theology at the Dominican House of Studies and an assistant director of the Thomistic Institute. The author of Prudence: Choose Confidently, Live Boldly, he holds a doctorate from the University of Fribourg (Switzerland) and regularly contributes to the podcasts Godsplaining and Pints with Aquinas.

Review :
"Father Pine is a good shepherd who knows and loves the sheep--and feeds the sheep so eloquently and practically with the love and truth of the Good Shepherd. Your Eucharistic Identity elevates the intellect and nourishes the soul with the truth of who we are as a Eucharistic people. It's a great resource for both study and prayer." --Fr. Mark-Mary Ames, C.F.R., Host of The Rosary in a Year "We live in an age obsessed with identity. We do not know who we are, and we long to find out. This wonderful book provides a simple, life-altering answer: We receive our identity in and through the Eucharist. With incredible clarity, Father Pine shows us point by point how the Mass not only transforms us but creates us, and carries the world to the fullness of joy. An essential guide to holiness in our time." --Edward Sri, Ph.D., Author, The Art of Living: The Cardinal Virtues and the Freedom to Love "Being a Christian is not just one more thing that you do. As Father Pine shows beautifully in this book, living as a disciple of Christ can transform you from the inside out, rooting your identity in Jesus Christ himself. The Eucharist does this par excellence. With a style that is direct and clear, and with a message as profound as they come, this book is a treasure for the spiritual life." --Fr. Dominic Legge, O.P., President, Pontifical Faculty at the Dominican House of Studies
