About the Author :
Nelson George: Nelson George is one of the first writers to document hip hop culture, seeing Kool Herc in a Bronx schoolyard in the late '70s. He would go on to write several award winning books on the subject, including 'Hip Hop America' and Russell Simmons' autobiography 'Life and Def.'
