Review :
I guess all quilters have heard of the famous drunkard's path block. John has put together 12 innovative projects using simple techniques to produce a variety of quilts based on this timeless block. The technique looks complex but is easy to piece since John has concentrated on easy construction. Some of the designs offer new piecing techniques on old variations of the block and others are new designs created by students who have taken John's classes. Sew curves with confidence. Step by step block cutting and piecing is given. The projects feature a large colour image of a finished quilt, ideas for changing colours, size or so on to create two variations, materials, cutting instructions, construction, borders and finishing.Illustrated where necessary, the instructions are foolproof. It is amazing the variety you can create when you start to experiment - these twelve designs are all different and should keep any quilter happy for months. This is a book to ignite your creative imagination. yarnsandfabrics.co.uk, 10/2/2016 Many quilters avoid curved piecing, but the projects in this book will make you want to tryand buy in! The quilts look very complicated, but John breaks down t he steps to make it easy, and painless. Quilter's Connection, Fall 2016 John Kubiniec's aim is to take the fear and mystery out of creating with curves, and has put together enough intriguing designs to tempt any quilter. Although it may not seem obvious at first glance, all of the quilts are built on variations of the Drunkard's Path block. Some are not new, while others were created more recently by students in his class. In the introductory section there is information about using templates and creating your own, and there are a few pages of illustrated tutorials to show how to piece the regular block as well as variations, Down Under Quilts, Issue 177 Who would have thought there were so many variations to discover with the Drunkard's Path block? John presents both variations to the block that have been around for a long time, and also introduces variations he and his students have created using preassembled strips, triangles and other methods. You won't recognise that some of these quilts are even based on the Drunkard's Path block. Quilters Companion, No. 81 A new take on curved piecing. Go beyond the basics with 12 innovative projects based on a classic pattern. Today's Quilter, Issue 17
