About the Book

"Mapmaker expertly brings the paranoid thriller into the age of surveillance, and the result is both moving and chilling." —D.B. Weiss, co-creator, writer, and producer of Game of Thrones When Tanya Barrett takes an internship at MapOut, she expects emotional landmines. Her father cofounded the digital mapping company, and he died for it—on a cartographic expedition. Her father’s business partner welcomes her with open arms, as does his son, Connor, an old childhood friend. To Tanya’s surprise being with Connor turns out to be the only thing that makes her feel happy. But when the two of them accidentally stumble across a deadly secret, Connor disappears. Alone again—and on the run—Tanya must rely on her wits and innate gifts to find out what happened to him and to evade MapOut. In the world their fathers helped create, no one stays lost for long.

Review :
Praise for Mapmaker "[Bomback and Craze's] clever and resourceful heroine . . . [fuses] Mia Thermopolis with Jason Bourne . . . Taut and techy . . . Fair warning: after finishing Mapmaker, you might find yourself looking over your shoulder or leaving that smartphone at home for a few days. " —The Christian Science Monitor "Haunting and compelling—Tanya repeatedly thinks she is successfully hiding only to discover that there is really no such thing as off the grid . . . tech-inspired readers will love the idea of MapOut, and they’ll appreciate the point that the impact of new technology depends on who’s wielding it." —The Bulletin of the Center for Children's Books  "Mapmaker is the terrifying lovechild of swashbuckling exploration and ruthless human surveillance. You'll want to have your atlas handy, your cyber smokescreen installed and your wits about you for this one." —Elizabeth Kiem, author of Dancer, Daughter, Traitor, Spy "Bomback and Craze show us the world through the eyes of a young woman whose unique and remarkable gift is also a terrible burden. Mapmaker expertly brings the paranoid thriller into the age of surveillance, and the result is both moving and chilling.” —D.B. Weiss, co-creator, writer, and producer of Game of Thrones "Mapmaker is a must-read thriller, with a courageous and intelligent heroine, a compelling mystery, and an ending that will leave you hungry for more. Fast-paced, smart, and dangerous—I couldn’t put it down!" —Jennifer A. Nielsen, New York Times bestselling author of The False Prince "Bomback and Craze whip up a suspense-laden, modern mystery that pulls on the current obsession with technology, mapping, and tracking people’s locations—and how innocently supplied data can be turned to a darker purpose." —Booklist "Fans of Michelle Gagnon’s Don’t Turn Around will enjoy this work for its exploration of the dangers of a technology-connected world . . . [an] action-packed, plot-centric thriller." —School Library Journal  "Fast paced and well executed, this mystery thriller will have readers devouring page after page . . . A deep and dark look at technology and where it might be headed, with a commentary on how disappearing in our modern world is far more difficult than it once was." —VOYA "A thriller that offers a frightening glimpse into how technology can be abused . . . Thought-provoking." —Publishers Weekly  "[Readers will] identify with Tanya's inability to hide in our high-tech world." —Kirkus Reviews "Mapmaker is an exciting thriller that keeps the suspense intently going." —Fresh Fiction Praise for Galaxy Craze's By the Shore “Breathtaking . . . Craze is note-perfect from beginning to end.” —San Francisco Chronicle   “Craze draws these characters with a feathery touch, just light enough to trace the essentials without leaving a smudge.” —Los Angeles Times   “Astoundingly well-written . . . Craze has created an ageless coming-of-age story.”—Seattle Weekly
