Review :
I very much enjoyed "Beowulf". The characters are awesome and the spiritual content solid. As with all of Kendig's novels, I walked away with a healthier appreciation of our military men and women. However, the beauty of "Beowulf" is that it speaks to the reader's heart and shows God's active and consuming love for all of us.--Melissa"The Christian Manifesto" (01/04/2014) As always, Kendig writes a fantastic, fast-paced novel and honors the men and women in the military. She also creates awareness of how much soldiers give of themselves for the freedom and protection of their country.--Marian Baay"GoodReads" (02/23/2014) Beowulf resounds with quintessential Kendig. Packed with deep characterization, rich descriptions, and her trademark rapid-fire dialogue, once you start reading you won't be able to stop.--Anne Payne"Stuff & Nonsense" (02/14/2014) I thoroughly enjoyed this, as I did Talon: Combat Tracking Team (review here) and Trinity: Military War Dog . You cannot go wrong when you pick up a book by Ronie Kendig and I highly recommend reading Beowulf or starting from the beginning with Trinity!--Emilie Hendryx"Thinking Thoughts" (02/14/2014) Ronie Kendig hits another home run with Beowulf a perfect combination of her signature compelling characters and non-stop action-packed plots.--Faith Oygard"Labor Not in Vain" (02/19/2014) Beowulf contains one of my favorite secondary plots out of all of Kendig's novels. I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know Dehqan and watching him change and grow as the story progressed. I don't want to give anything away, but his story is an intensely gripping and moving journey that will tug at the heart. Needless to say, I strongly recommend the final installment in the A Breed Apart series.--Elizabeth Olmedo"Fiction Addict" (12/18/2013) Beowulf is a bittersweet conclusion to an adrenaline driven series with heart and passion. Dive in to the terrorist underworld and encounter indomitable characters of courage and honor that readers can champion toward victory in all its forms.--Lydia Mazzei"Over Weight Bookshelf" (12/15/2013) Kendig does a very nice job of storyline weaving in and throughout the characters. Good book worth the money.--Gina Burgess"Upon Reflection" (01/08/2014) This is definitely a book that is hard to put down once you pick it up; it keeps you totally engaged and on your toes! This author consistently delivers the 'Rapid Fire Fiction' she promises in her tag line. To gain the most comprehensive reading experience, I highly recommend reading this series in order.--Sherry Kuhn"Love 2 Read Novels" (01/03/2014) I enjoyed this book immensely and would highly recommend it. The characters are so real and chiseled out that they seem like someone you know when you are done reading. It's a page turner from beginning to end, but not too ridden with suspense as it has its funny moments.--Michelle Woods"TM Woods Books" (10/23/2013) If you like military books then the A Breed Apart series is a definite must read. Add in some romance and tense combat situations and Ronie Kendig's books keep the reader on the edge of their seats.--Julie Graves"My Favorite Past Time" (10/30/2013) Ronie Kendig has done it again. The third in her series about Military Working Dogs (MWD) is as full of action, romance, and adventure as the first two, Trinity and Talon. The characters are believable and the story exciting. You will want to read about Timbrel and her Beowulf!--Deborah Haggerty"Positive Grace" (11/09/2013) I'm a big Ronie Kendig fan and I have devoured her "rapid-fire fiction," but this third offering in her action-packed A Breed Apart series, which honors military working dogs and their handlers, is my favorite so far. If you are looking for high-adrenaline action and emotionally charged romance, grab this book! I will offer a word of caution for sensitive readers: Be prepared to gasp a few times (and possibly even cry I did!) when terrorists and tragedy strike. Beowulf: Explosives Detective Dog is an excellent and pleasing romance with quick-witted characters and a big slobbery dog who will steal your heart.--Serena Chase"USA Today's Happy Ever After blog" (04/16/2014)" I found Beowulf to be a real page turner, romantic, full of of action, and informative on what today's men and women in the military face while fighting for our country. I loved how Timbrel and Beo had such a beautiful bond. Throughout the book I found myself laughing, crying, and hanging on to my seat to see what happens next. I was completely surprised to what happens to one of the main characters. I did NOT see that coming! --Amy Campbell"GoodReads" (01/19/2014) I loved this book so much! From the moment Timbrel and Tony met, the sparks flew and you knew their story was going to amazing! And it was! The story was definitely gripping and kept me sucked in and wanting more and I loved every minute. This was a stunning conclusion to an amazing series and I can't wait to read Ronie's new series that is about characters that were in this one!--Abbi Hart"Christian Novels Blog" (02/01/2014) The action is fast-paced and gripping and keeps you on the edge of your seat. I was thoroughly engrossed in Tony's and Timbrel's mission. I am in awe of the way Ms. Kendig creates these missions for the team and how it all seems to come full circle in its own way. It reads as very realistic and never once have I felt that her novels were phony (I say this with authority, does it matter where it comes from? lol) Overall: Success! Captures you from the first page and you won't stop thinking about the characters. If you've read the other books in this series, you must read this one (And if you haven't started the series yet, you're missing out!) --Embassie Susberry"Amazon.com" (01/10/2014) I thoroughly loved this one. Kendig does show that Christianity is indeed a relationship with God and not a crutch for those who are so called weak and cowardly. She mixes this in very well with the mind set of the strict military and regimented culture of the military who can be very independent in thought and action and masters of their own fate. All in all I found this a very enjoyable and compelling novel and the best out of this trilogy. The other two were Strongly Recommended by myself but this one is Highly Recommended.--Peter Younghusband"Christian Fiction Review Guru" (12/25/2013) Ronie has done it again with this fast-paced, action-packed suspense novel that filled with adventure, intrigue, faith, and romance. Her knowledge and passion for the military and working dogs shines through in this story. --Heather Lammers"Marine Corps Nomads" (12/10/2013) WOW! What an incredible novel! Not only a great story that tugs on your heart and spirit, but one that has such staunch purpose. I wish I could get a copy of this book into the hands of everyone I know. It is impacting in SO many ways! I'm in love with the author--her passion and her gift as a storyteller. I love how she uses the gifts God has given her to now just entertain but to also bring a message and impact lives. There is a mission in her writing that is full of beautiful passion. Instead of telling you about a cause, she makes you feel it--live it. Well done, Ronie Kendig! Definitely a bookshelf worthy book. Five stars.--Joleen Graumann"Breath Perfumed" (12/10/2013) "In Kendig fashion she brings the villains to life as writes from their point of view. You understand the truly evil and the struggle to decipher good vs evil in a war torn world. " "The plot is engaging and suspenseful. The scenes are action packed both in Afghanistan and on the home front. The characters were believable and likeable. The dialogue is realistic and witty. Candyman is a hero in every sense. Kendig writes military fiction with remarkable authenticity. "--Donna Feyen"More Than a Review" (11/22/2013)
