In 2008, her publication Nurse Preceptor Program Builder: Tools for a Successful Preceptor Program (2nd ed.) was selected as a core resource for the national VHA RN Residency Program. Dr. Swihart is the CEO for the American Academy for Preceptor Advancement.Solimar Figueroa, MSN MHA BSN RN is a clinical nurse educator and preceptor liaison at Baptist Health South Florida with 33 years in professional nursing practice. Ms. Figueroa, developed the "Married Sate Preceptorship Model," a one-on-one preceptoring model for new nurses which she published in the Journal of Continuing Education in Nursing. She is a frequent presenter on preceptorship and shared governance, and has co-authored and contributed to books on those subjects. Ms. Figueroa is currently pursuing her PhD in Nursing.
