Having a resource such as this book will assist these professionals in identifying those children that need help. A must-read for all! Identifying proactive approaches to identifying child abuse and how to establish positive relationships between teachers and students is important in today?s school settings. Chapter 6 provides steps for both the pre-service and in-service teachers in how to create a trusting environment in their classroom and develop relationships where children feel safe. This is an important step necessary for abused children to know there is an adult in which theycan confide.. This timely book on a dfficult and personally disturbing topic is a must-read for all current and future educators and parents. Increased awareness and understanding on this topic is our best defense against abuse.
