About the Author :
Jackie Birmingham, RN, BSN, MS, is vice president of regulatory monitoring and clinical leadership at Curaspan Health Group of Newton, MA. She monitors federal laws that affect the process and practice of discharge planning and case management. She is an experienced director of discharge planning and director of continuity of care. Birmingham is the author of the first two editions of Discharge Planning Guide: Tools for Compliance as well as several books and journal articles about case management and discharge planning. She is a member of the editorial advisory board of Case Management Monthly from HCPro, and a frequent audio conference speaker.
