About the Book

Aunt Sara moved to Florida and was lonely. She decided to adopt two little homeless dogs to be part of her new family. She knew she now had the time for such a big responsibility. A Wiggles and Wags Tale subtitled Coming Home introduces Aunt Sara's two adopted little dogs. It describes and illustrates the events to take place for Aunt Sara to find just the right doggies to become part of her family. She knew she wanted to adopt two homeless dogs but she had to do her homework and research to make sure she chose dogs that would be a good fit in her home and lifestyle. There would be trials and errors but in the end, she had made two very good choices that made her life fuller and gave her great joy. A Wiggle's and Wag's Tale is a very sweet story about the adoption of two darling little dogs who were abandoned and homeless. Fortunately for them, Aunt Sara was about to change their whole lives and make them very happy. The book's illustrations never show Aunt Sara's face. This was done purposely as the focus is meant to be on Wiggles and Wags as the main characters. Any future Wiggle's and Wag's Tales will show very little of Aunt Sara. Rather, it will feature the adventures and lessons Wiggles and Wags experience and learn. Naturally, each book will have different subtitles. This first book addresses the sad fact that there are an enormous amount of abandoned, abused and homeless pets. It describes many of the causes and how one may help prevent this type of abuse to continue. The book addresses the responsibilities of pet ownership which is a very important lesson for children as most parents are aware. It also allows the readers to realize how rescuing a homeless pet, if the proper choice, could bring so much joy and enrichment into their lives. I feel that children as well as adults could be made more aware of this epidemic and become more responsible when choosing a pet. I have always felt a story should do more than just entertain. It should make people think and learn and feel - especially children who are so impressionable, curious and so eager to learn. I believe A Wiggle's and Wag's Tale does that.
