About the Book

We start at a funeral for Kummel, a kind of mafia boss who has passed away. Jing appears and thanks to some distractions is able to steal a valuable jewel from Kummel coffin. He is soon being chased by gangsters but is saved by a postman whom he is friendly with. The postman tells Jing he is delivering a letter to the leader of the city and Jing comments that he was on his way there too. More gangsters show up and Jing and co escape into the mines that this city is famous for. The postman guesses that Jing is after a very expensive communication device that is held in the city leader's house. Scene shifts to the large house where the leader, Orzo is but a child who has recently lost his mother. He is trying to contact her through a radio but it does not work and he is very depressed. In the mines, Jing and Co. meet the mine workers who are special creatures who stay in the mines digging their whole lives. The gangsters show up again but Jing is able to cleverly escape. But Kummel comes back to life, somehow, and starts attacking Jing using a robot. Jing takes the postman's motorcycle and heads off to Orzo's mansion. At the mansion he meets up with Kummel again but is able to defeat him and deliver the letter to Orzo. The letter is from a girl that has been listening to Orzo's attempts to call his mother. She invites Orzo to her birthday party and Orzo is happy that he now has a friend. Jing slips away without stealing the valuable communication device but rather some kind of jewel. In the second story, Jing and Kir arrive at a city called Rusty Nail. There they are quickly attacked by a group of strange creatures but manage to escape. This city is supposedly run by the brain of God and stealing the brain seems to be Jing's goal. Jing is again cornered by the group of creatures in a cemetery but if able to escape by abducting one of their associates, a nurse named Shin Lu.
