The possibility of the paranormal has become prevalent in television and movies in recent years. Now both the novice and the more experienced researcher can investigate haunted sites for themselves. This intriguing account covers everything from high-tech gadgets to inborn psychic abilities while instructing readers on how to locate friendly or not-so-friendly apparitions at haunted locations throughout the area. About the Author :
Lorri Sankowsky works a day job as a Manager at an aluminum company. Her true interest, however, lies in the profession of ghost hunting. She was born in Indianapolis and currently lives there with her family, which is the location where she has decided to focus her efforts in co-authoring Ghost Hunter's Guide to Indianapolis with Keri Young. Her interest in the paranormal world stems from early childhood, when she discovered horror movies and the television series Dark Shadows. Building on these foundations, Sankowsky familiarized herself with suspense author Stephen King, piquing her interests in horror fiction. King's fiction was all good and well, but Lorri wanted to experience the intrigue of real-life paranormal encounters for herself. Previously a mere hobby, once Lorri attended a meeting of The Indiana Ghost Trackers, she became hooked on carrying out her own investigations into ghost phenomena. She eventually became one of the co-directors of the ghost-tracking group and was then able to begin explorations with others who shared her interests. Together with her friend and co-author Keri Young, Sankowsky organized tour groups with tourists and locals alike. One of her most successful guide groups was at the French Lick Springs Hotel and Resort in French Lick, Indiana, with a crowd of several hundred participants. Her natural involvement in Indiana's paranormal culture gave her a basis for Ghost Hunter's Guide to Indianapolis, as many of her colleagues and even strangers would share their ghost phenomena experiences with her. She has collaborated with Young to incorporate many of these various stories into their book, as well as their own personal encounters. She currently lives in Indianapolis with her husband of twenty years and her two children. This is her first book. When she is not ghost hunting or writing, Lorri loves to read poetry and cheer for both her children's sports teams, and of course, the Indianapolis Colts.
