About the Book
This book provides an outlined-based, all inclusive reference of anatomic pathology for pathologists-in-training and practicing pathologists. Hundred of tables and lists provide the pathologist with a concentrated reference on the diagnostic criteria and differential diagnosis required to ensure an accurate diagnosis. It is organised to allow for an easy reference for daily practice. The first part covers general anatomic pathology, including diagnostic molecular pathology, medical cytogenetics, human genetic disorders, microbiology for surgical pathologists, forensic pathology, and cytopathology. The second part if classified by organ systems, and covers important diagnostic features of common medical diseases and tumors. The pertinent clinical information, salient diagnostic features, relevant ancillary data (e.g., immunohistochemical profiles), main differential diagnoses for each disease and the most recent tumor staging information are presented in a consistently user-friendly format. Comprehensive, and packed with useful information, this book will serve as an essential reference in the pathologist lab and become a useful study guide for all pathologists in training.

Review :
The book covers the entire general and organ system pathology. In the first part it also covers topics like molecular biology diagnostic techniques, human genetic disorders, microbiology for the surgical pathologist, diagnostic electron microscopy, forensic pathology and cytopathology. In the second part, the book covers the specific diseases that affect each organ system. The important things are emphasized and are easily found. Histopathologic findings are supplemented with ancillary data providing, in one place, truly comprehensive coverage of each pathologic entity...This is a very good outline of pathology that will be used by residents preparing for the specialty boards. It is up to date, comprehensive, and well done. - Doody's Health Sciences Book Review Journal This book is concisely written heady-duty manual with a broad and extensive spectrum, covering all aspects of Anatomical Pathology and (surprisingly!) including Forensic Pathology quick reference manual with comprehensive coverage of all aspects of Anatomical Pathology combined with a simple layout. To the trainee this therefore is an invaluable and indispensable aid for last minute panic induced study. Practicing pathologists will find it useful when navigating unfamiliar or long-forgotten waters after years of sub-specialisation. The book is laid out in two parts and follows the traditional tried-and-tested pattern of pathology teaching: General Pathology followed by Systemic Pathology The chapter on Breast Pathology is a work of art. At the end of each chapter the authors provide a helpful list of suggested reading. This is a helpful inclusion. Priced at $99.00 for the paperback version the book is good value for money and should be affordable. Big departments of pathology with a number of trainees should invest in the hardback version. - Internet Journal of Forensic Medicine The present book is presented in a user-friendly format and will rarely gather dust on the shelves of a pathologist...it can be recommend not only to practicing pathologists, but also to pathologists in training, to medical students and to physician's from other specializations that have a special interest in surgical pathology. - Annals of Anatomy The present book is presented in a user-friendly format and will rarely gather dust on the shelves of a pathologist. - Annals of Anatomy
