About the Book

'Chaos magic offers a great deal of inspiration for creative freedom and innovation in magic, but it also outrages many people who liked to think of themselves as guardians of ancient traditions. This new book seems destined to do exactly the same for the next generation of magicians. Its publication may well prove a seminal moment in the history of magic.' – from the foreword by Peter J. Carroll

Magic workers have long used the tools at hand for crafting spells and rituals. AI technology has opened a new frontier for magic. Some of the most powerful tools at a magician’s fingertips today are computers and smart devices.

Magical AI Grimoire helps you to understand how to work with technology – creatively and ethically – in the practice of your magic. Whether you’re trying to use promptcraft to perfect a spell, ChatGPT to outline and strengthen a ritual, or generative image software to recreate what you’ve only seen on the astral plane, Davezilla is your guide.

Around the world, witches and magicians are finding that technology has a spiritual essence and a mind of its own. Witches and magicians have been using computers to organise sabbats and ceremonies since the early days of electronic communication. Astrology apps were some of the first applications written, and in most covens, it’s a good bet that one or more of the members work with computers. Davezilla provides context and history for the evolving uses of AI – from Alexa to Spotify to ChatGPT and beyond – and leads the pioneering, curious magician through a new magical realm with responsibility and clarity of insight.

About the Author :

Davezilla is a longtime member of the Detroit pagan community, with over forty years of experience in occult/new age religions. He has undergone initiations as an eclectic Gardnerian witch, a Ngangalero in Palo Mayombe, and a Discordian Pope, and is a practicing Olocha (Santero). By day, he is an award-winning illustrator and AI instructor. He works with hundreds of minority-owned small-business owners to teach them how to incorporate this new technology into their businesses. Davezilla is also the artist and author of the (traditionally illustrated) Tarot of the Unexplained.

Review :
“Chaos magic offers a great deal of inspiration for creative freedom and innovation in magic, but it also outrages many people who liked to think of themselves as guardians of ancient traditions. This new book, Magical AI Grimoire by Davezilla, seems destined to do exactly the same for the next generation of magicians. Its publication may well prove a seminal moment in the history of magic.”
—from the foreword by Peter Carroll

“I can’t love this book more! Davezilla gives you a contrast and comparison of magical traditions while taking you through an entertaining intro course on AI. With all the worry about tech taking over, this is the guide for the magical practitioner to take over tech. This is a natural evolution, as we are masters of the unseen virtual world and now we have our own playground.”
—Jacki Smith, author of The Big Book of Candle Magic

“What Davezilla has crafted here is a cornerstone for witches living in the 21st century. Rather than adopting a fearful or sanctimonious attitude towards AI and contemporary technology, Davezilla cleverly showcases how it is not only possible but entirely legitimate to integrate and embrace artificial intelligence as more than a mere tool in any witchcraft practice. Davezilla invites us to challenge ourselves by incorporating the perspective of a man-made intelligence, which can offer much more than shortcuts, as it helps witches of the present time attune to the currents of change and ride towards the future on the proverbial broom, which is now made of fiber optics, microprocessors, and prompts. A must-read for any witch practicing the craft in this not-so-brave new world.”
—Cherry Parra, author of The Left-Hand Path of Tarot
