ALICE EASTERLING, RN, MSN, is manager, resource management and care coordination, at St. Joseph Mercy Community Healthcare System, Pontiac, Michigan. She is responsible for acute-care and continuum-based care management services, utilization review, clinical resource management, and project managing clinical quality improvement teams. Previously, Ms. Easterling held a variety of positions at St. Joseph Mercy Community Healthcare System, including project director for patient-driven care; project team member for "operational transformation," an organizationwide reengineering effort; project director for case management/collaborative practice; and medical/surgical clinical nurse specialist. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau and a consultant and national speaker for the topics of role redesign, patient-driven care, case management/collaborative practice, critical pathyways, change management, and project management. Ms. Easterling obtained a BSN from Oakland University, Rochester, Michigan, and a MSN from Wayne State University, Detroit, Michigan. JUDITH ANN AVIE, RN, MEdIT, is the vice-president of professional services at United Training Services, Inc., Southfield, Michigan, where she is responsible for the technical/professional services group and the design/customization of new programs. Most recently, Ms. Avie served as a project team member for "operational transformation," an organizationwide reengineering effort; and she served as associate vice-president for professional training and development at St. Joseph Mercy Community Healthcare System, Pontiac, Michigan. Previously, Ms. Avie held a variety of clinical and management positions. She holds adjunct faculty status at Wayne State University, Detroit, Michigan; University of Detroit/Mercy, Detroit, Michigan; and Oakland University, Rochester, Michigan. Ms. Avie is a member of the National Society for Performance in Instruction and is a national speaker on adult learning theory, role redesign, collaboration, and patient education. She obtained a BSN from Mercy College of Detroit, Michigan, and a master's in education, instructional technology, from Wayne State University, Detroit, Michigan. MARY LOUISE WESLEY, RN, MSN, is a visiting professor in the School of Nursing at Oakland University, Rochester, Michigan, and a consultant at St. Joseph Mercy Community Healthcare System, Pontiac, Michigan; Mercy Health Services, Farmington Hills, Michigan; and other health care organizations for the development of care delivery models. Previously, she was the nursing administrator at St. Joseph Mercy Community Healthcare System, Pontiac, Michigan, where she led the design, implementation, and evaluation of case management/collaborative practice. She has held various clinical and management positions and is a member of Sigma Theta Tau. Ms. Wesley is a national speaker on role redesign, case management/collaborative practice, critical pathways, and financial management in nursing practice. She received a BSN from Mercy College of Detroit and a MSN from Madonna University, Detroit, Michigan. NORMA CHIMNER, RN, MSN, CRRN, is rehabiliation clinical nurse specialist at St. Joseph Mercy Community Healthcare System, Pontiac, Michigan. She has held rehabilitation nursing certification since 1986. Previously, Ms. Chimner was the director of nursing/clinical nurse specialist for rehabilitation nursing at Sinai Hospital, Detroit, Michigan. She has also held various clinical and management positions. Ms. Chimner serves on the advisory board for The Medical Team, a home health care agency located in Detroit, Michigan, and she is a member of Sigma Theta Tau. Ms. Chimner is active in the Association of Rehabilitation Nurses on a national and state level and has held various offices in the Michigan chpater, including president for two terms. She is a national speaker for rehabilitation patient care and issues and case management/collaborative practice. Ms. Chimner obtained a BSN from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Michigan, and a MSN from Wayne State University, Detroit, Michigan.
