About the Book

Our current early-education system has greatly underestimated the learning capabilities of our own children. When they were little, parents are all so amazed when our children begin staggering on their own feet, calling "da-da" and "ma-ma," holding a picture book and adding one number to another. The progress has been so astounded and we could not resist thanking God for the given of the brilliant cuties. The pleasant surprises will only last, unfortunately, until our children getting into our proud early-education system that unintentionally slows down our children's learning progress and destroy the eager to learn spirit by lowering expectations. It is so obvious that you don't need to dig out the official statistics to find it out. For example, it is the fact that American elementary kid won't get to know multiplication until 3rd grade. Is it too late? Of course. Let me remind you an episode in the famous Roald Dahl's "Matilda," Miss Honey expected her class of five-year-olds ..". in a year's time I hope you will know all the multiplication tables up to twelve." This probably a British standard back to before 1988 when the book was published. Does it mean that our current education system in the U.S. is two to three years behind the education standards around the world? It is even funnier when we get to reading and language arts. Parents rarely read to their children and teach their children vocabularies. But that's hardly parents' fault because they have been made to believe that school will teach their beloved children how to learn vocab themselves. That is a big misleading. Teachers are working hard to follow the lowered standards rather than real teaching, and the current standards are too low comparing to the world around us. That is why we are the biggest immigrating country for higher technical labors. Children's brain is like an empty warehouse. In it, sight words (most frequently used words) are the frames and racks. They are eagerly waiting for you to load them up by teaching them new words through reading interesting book before the brain getting dusty and rusty at roughly about second or third grades. Don't underestimate children's brain power of memorization and comprehension given. It will surprise you again just like they did when they began to stand on their own feet and call you "da-da" or "ma-ma" the very first time. This book is developed to accelerate children's intellectual progress. In arithmetic matters, it leads the children gradually, step by step, from addition into multiplication table. Subtraction is also covered. By the end of the first grade, children who use this book shall grasp the concept of the multiplication and stay ahead of the general arithmetic standards used in the U.S. In reading, this book provides tracing exercise about a story. The tracing exercise will input the word images into children's marvelous brain. Load them up! The learning progress will be even more accelerated if parents or teacher may spare 5 to 10 minutes with them before the tracing exercise of each chapter. The coloring section of this book focuses on human figures, such as kungfu boys or kungfu girls or babies.
