C. H. Spurgeon was a British Baptist pastor whose work remains meaningful to Christians of all denominations. The father of the modern "mega-church," Spurgeon is most famous for his pastorship at London's Metropolitan Tabernacle, where he regularly preached to huge crowds. In his lifetime, Spurgeon preached to over ten million people and published over fifty-five books, sermons, and meditations, which have been translated into thirty-four languages. Until He Comes is a collection of addresses centered on the Lord's Supper. He preached his first sermon, from 1 Peter 2:7, in 1851 at 16 and became pastor of the Church in Waterbeach in 1852. He published more than 1,900 different sermons and preached to around 10,000,000 people during his lifetime.
