About the Book

The novel that inspired the acclaimed Rebecca Miller film Maggie's Plan, starring Julianne Moore, Ethan Hawke, and Greta Gerwig.

Isabel, Anna, Beth, and Maggie are women who aren't afraid to take it all. Whether spearheading a pregnancy lingerie company, conspiring to return a husband to his ex-wife, lusting after an old lover while in a satisfying marriage, or trying to balance motherhood and work--they are sexy, determined, and not looking for a simple happily ever after. Through punchy, hilarious, and insightful storytelling, The End of Men shatters the confines of society, and more importantly, those we impose upon ourselves.

About the Author :
Karen Rinaldi is the publisher of Harper Wave, an imprint she founded in 2012, and a senior vice president at HarperCollins Publishers. The End of Men inspired the story for the 2016 film Maggie's Plan. Brittany Pressley has won several Earphones Awards as well as the prestigious Audie Award for Best Narration in 2018. She has recorded over one hundred titles and has received several nominations for American Library Association's annual list of Amazing Audiobooks for Young Adults. In the literary world, Angela has received multiple awards and nominations for her work as an audiobook narrator, and is a published fiction author herself. She holds a BA in philosophy, so if the writing/performing work dries up, she has something to fall back on. Rachel Fulginiti is an audiobook narrator and a voice-over artist who has worked with companies such as Chrysler, Target, McDonalds, and eHarmony. She is a graduate of the Meisner Program at the School for Film and Television in New York City. Allyson Ryan is an Earphones Award-winning voice actress who can be heard in commercials, promos, animation, and audiobooks. She has extensive experience on stage and television. In New York, she acted in and directed more than thirty plays. Her television credits include roles on Eleventh Hour, Law & Order, and One Life to Live. Review :

"By using modern media to ask age-old questions, Rinaldi has crafted an incisive yet tender look at the high points and heartbreak of motherhood."

-- "Booklist"

"Cool and hot, sweet and sharp, The End of Men is a beguiling modern tale of four self-made women who are doing it their way, and the men who're along for the ride. I read it in one sitting, without checking my phone. A novel can't possibly come more highly recommended than that."

-- "Karen Karbo, author of The Gospel According to Coco Chanel"

"Four women support one another throughout [a] year of transition...[with] perceptive observations on modern motherhood and womanhood...Entertaining and insightful."

-- "Publishers Weekly"

"In Karen Rinaldi's coy and sprawling novel men still matter. Only we see them through the eyes of four brilliant and fierce women for whom having it all is very much a work in progress. Anna, Beth, Isabel and Maggie collectively are like the phases of the moon: hormonally, emotionally and romantically attuned. Expertly woven together, their voices become a New York City tableau of marriage, children, life, death, careers, pregnancy tests, love and, um, men."

-- "Betsy Lerner, author of The Bridge Ladies"

"With humor, bravery, and panache, Karen Rinaldi puts her finger straight on the tender conundrum of the female experience, where work, love, and motherhood intersect."

-- "Rebecca Miller, director of Maggie's Plan"
