About the Book

From the mind that brought you When Worlds Collide, Charles Blair presents, Misdirection. Misdirection is a collection of five short stories. This collection of mystery and psychological suspense includes two best sellers: Song 7 and Whiteout. Song 7: SONG 7 follows the shortcomings of a intellectually disabled twelve year old boy, Sam Masterson. After the night Sam claimed his deceased mother sang to him in the attic, he made the outrageous and unbelievable accusation that Adrian, a world famous rock star, stole the lyrics of SONG 7 from his mind. What started out as a laughable claim, eventually reached the inside of a courtroom. Whiteout: Riddle me this... A man routinely goes to bed, but he wakes up in a foreign room without any memory of how he got there. The four walled room, with no windows, is painted glaringly white from top to bottom. The only other color that is visible, besides white, is shining from a brass door knob protruding from the wall. On the floor, which is also painted white, is a small hand sized mirror, and a sixty four count box of crayons. From the equally white ceiling, hangs one row of fluorescent suspended lights. The door is locked, and the man is trapped. The only way out is in. Trapped: Trapped is a psychological suspense short story, and perhaps Patrick Lucid's toughest case yet. Cindy Felmer, a paranoid schizophrenic, hasn't left her home in over a year. Psychotherapist, Patrick Lucid, accepts the case, however, his role quickly changes to a private investigator as he suspects criminal behavior by Cindy's husband. In the end you'll realize, "Some marriages weren't meant to be." Six Months: Trisha Baker, a nymphomaniac, was propelled into therapy by her displeased husband, Bryan. Trisha was given a choice, relinquish her infidelity and keep her family intact, or continue lusting, destroy her family, and lose custody of her ten year old child, Douglas. Patrick Lucid commenced his services and didn't foresee any reason why he couldn't eliminate Trisha's symptoms, until Douglas, developed Fatal Familial Insomnia, also known as FFI. FFI is an incurable disease that attacks the brain and causes insomnia, panic attacks, phobias, hallucinations, dementia, and eventually death. For Douglas, his prognosis was death within six months. Desperate to save her son, Trisha requested Patrick to use his pretentious demeanor to save her son's life. Using psychotherapy, Patrick had an opportunity to prove that the mind can overcome anything. I'll Do Anything: I'll Do Anything, a mysterious novelette, shows how far a woman will go to pull herself out of disparity. Bonnie Lintmore doesn't have the finer things in life. However, she has what most women don't, a loving and faithful husband. Bonnie's perfect marriage disappears when her husband, Ryan, vanishes from within the walls of their own home. Ryan's missing person investigation, which lasted fourteen days, ends with a startling conclusion.
