About the Book

Fred the fairy works at a Wish-Granting Plant – and when he’s finally given his very first wish to grant, he wants to get it right!

Josh only has one wish. He’s been invited to a princess party . . . and he needs a dress to wear!
With time ticking and the party approaching, it’s up to Fred to conjure up the PERFECT outfit, and make sure that Josh is the very best-dressed princess. Can Fred make this little boy’s wish come true, and prove himself in the process?

A Fairy Called Fred is a funny, joyful Cinderella story that celebrates the courage it takes to be yourself and to do something for the very first time. From the creators of the much-loved picture book Out of the Blue, it’s perfect for fans of Grandad's Camper and Julian Is a Mermaid.

About the Author :

Robert Tregoning studied at the Glasgow School of Art before leaping into a career on the West End stage. He has appeared in stage shows including Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, directed by Academy Award-winner Sam Mendes, and the Royal Shakespeare Company’s Matilda the Musical.

Feel-good, fairy FUN with read-aloud rhymes, gorgeous illustrations, and an important, heartfelt message about gender stereotyping and inclusively. I loved A Fairy Called Fred!

A glorious story that celebrates diversity, perseverance and passion. A joy to read aloud to little ones. Five stars from my seven-year-old son! A magical wish-come-true tale, with vibrant art that sparkles on every page Filled to the brim with joy and magic, a celebration of being yourself. It's a pleasure to read out loud and the illustrations had me gasping and smiling as I turned each page!
