About the Book

From the host of Fox News @ Night, a deeply personal book about finding purpose and growth amid life's unpredictability. Whether it's her work today as a host and reporter for Fox News, her years in law school, or the time she spent competing in pageants like Miss America, Shannon Bream has spent the bulk of her adult life stumbling through high-pressure environments in which it often seems like you need to feign perfection in order to survive. But in this laugh-out-loud book of stories and inspiration, Shannon shares the moments behind the glamour and makeup, in which she learned that the values and faith of her blue-collar upbringing could keep her grounded in a world where everyone wants you to be something other than what you are. In Finding the Bright Side, Shannon continues a conversation about authenticity, humility, and trusting in God that she's already begun with her followers on social media. She shares behind-the-scenes stories from Washington, D.C., news breaks from her time reporting on the Supreme Court, and the challenging moments of her life--from the time her first boss fired her and told her, "You're the worst person I've ever seen on TV," to the time she heard "There is no cure." But through all of this, faith (and yes, a little bit of stubbornness!) has helped Shannon to keep hope, find purpose in the pain, and find plenty of laughs along the way.

About the Author :
SHANNON BREAM joined Fox News Channel in 2007. She currently serves as host of Fox News @ Night (weekdays at 11 p.m.), the network's Chief Legal Correspondent. A Florida native, she's drawn to the sun and the beach where she grew up with parents who convinced her anything was possible. Their lives were modest, but they believed in the power of: education, hard work and faith. Though she now spends her days covering politics and the United States Supreme Court, Shannon started her career as a sexual harassment attorney. She counts it a great privilege to cover the news of the day at such a pivotal moment in history. It wasn't an easy journey from attorney to journalist, and she was actually fired from her first reporting job. That boss told her, 'You're the worst person I've ever seen on TV and you'll never make it.' Used to being the underdog, Shannon took that as a personal challenge. First, as a reality check to assess her skills and decide how she could improve. Second, to test the limits of what she could accomplish in the face of such a dire prediction. From competing in the Miss America Pageant to running a marathon, she's developed an attitude of persistence. The refusal to take 'no' for an answer has come in handy as she chases politicians around Capitol Hill and digs to get to the root of the story. It was also critical when she confronted a life-changing illness and had to fight to become her own medical advocate in order to find a diagnosis and a strategy for living with chronic, crippling pain. Amid the swirl of troubling news from around the globe, her faith is her greatest comfort and hope. Away from work, Shannon enjoys running, fly fishing, reading and travelling the world with her partner-in-crime: her husband, Sheldon. She is a magna cum laude graduate of Liberty University, a former Miss America finalist and earned a Juris Doctorate with honors from Florida State University College of Law.

Review :
"An extraordinary story of deep faith triumphing over painful hardships, told with such refreshing honesty you almost won't believe it. And did I mention the humor? If you ever thought the brilliant and beautiful Shannon Bream had an easy and perfect life, you're in for some big surprises. Read it and be encouraged!"-Eric Metaxas, bestselling author of Martin Luther and Bonhoeffer "It's hard to imagine a person who's simultaneously wholesome and sophisticated, yet somehow Shannon Bream is both. Her life makes for a great story, not to mention a lesson for the rest of us. It's not that she's had it easy. She just glides over the potholes with such grace that it looks that way. This is an awesome book."-Tucker Carlson, host of Tucker Carlson Tonight and bestselling author of Ship of Fools "What a gift this book will be to your soul. My friend, Shannon, has a fascinating, sometimes devastating, story that she's chosen to make completely delightful. The way life twists and turns with the unexpected and unpredictable, can leave some of us feeling disillusioned and fighting against the way things turn out. This page turning read will remind you that with God, there's always beauty to be discovered, and teach you how to look for it in your own story."-Lysa TerKeurst, bestselling author of Uninvited and It's Not Supposed to be This Way, president of Proverbs 31 Ministries
