About the Book

Putting things in context, by understanding what went before an event and what came after, is very important especially when it comes to Bible events because such activity brings them into clearer focus. A multitude of books must have been written on the subject of the Easter events and their meaning, so why should you read this one? Because of the efforts made to put the whole message in context. What was written about in Genesis is as important in setting the scene for the crucifixion as what Moses recorded in Deuteronomy. What can be discovered in Ezekiel and the reason for the 400 years of silence is as important in setting the scene for the attitude of the leaders of the Jews towards the Messiah when He arrived as are the events surrounding the trial and execution of the Saviour. No book can be written that covers all aspects of the Easter events; an amazingly obvious statement. However, each book will have something to offer the seeker after truth and this one is no exception. After months of research and writing, one or two trusted individuals were asked if this book should be published or deleted from the computer. The singular reply was - publish. This book is, therefore, offered to those who want to discover more about the meaning of the events leading up to and following Easter in order to put the celebration into context.

About the Author :
Born in 1939, Peter joined the Royal Navy in 1955 as an electrical engineering apprentice. He served on a number of ships, including HMS Ark Royal 1960/61, and spent over a year in the far east visiting Sydney during the building of the opera house. He was also an instructor at the Navy's college for electrical/electronic systems. Leaving the service in 1969, he became a Quality Engineer working on spacecraft and missile systems at BAe Filton, Bristol. In 1984, whilst working for R. A. Lister, Dursley, Gloucestershire, he became a Technical Author going on to gain an enviable reputation for the quality of his writing and training skills in a variety of industries. A member of the prestigious Society of Authors, he finally retired at 72 although he still writes books on scripture. He married his wife Joan in December 1961 and they have three sons and six grandchildren. Peter became a Methodist Local preacher in 1959, although he and his wife now attend morning worship at the prison where he has served as an official prison visitor since 1990 finally retiring in January 2016. A Jewish friend he first met in prison asked him to write on Genesis, then Exodus and Numbers, as well as a number of other subjects, all of which were sent around the world attached to emails. He also wrote on the Revelation of John at the request of a rabbi, who became addicted of his writing and understanding of scripture. Peter was then asked by the rabbi to write on The Tent of the Meeting, which he self published in 2011. Peter has been reworking the books previously sent by email and publishing them as ebooks for the Amazon Kindle. A number of the prisoners he met with regularly found his writing inspiring and were encouraged to study scripture for themselves.
