About the Book

Travis shares details about how the Autism Society of America and its chapters have bullied him over the past five years because he pushes them to advocate for social skills coaching on his behalf. The Autism Society has a mission statement of helping all people affected by autism and Travis shares how their statement is false as they have been of no help to him. Travis has PTSD from bullying that Dana and Scott have done to him over the past five years. Travis will share how the Autism Society of Indiana and the Autism Society of America have discriminated against him because of his mental illness. Travis fears that the Autism Society of America and the Autism Society of Indiana are out to get him because he is high functioning and does not fit the standard mold of Autism Spectrum Disorder. Travis shares how Dana and the Autism Society of America told him he was not welcome at any of the Autism Society of Indiana or Autism Society of America events simply because he had come down with a mental illness. Travis also talks about how the Autism Society of America and its chapters are more interested in raising money and looking good in the public eye than they are helping people with Autism. Travis feels it is very important that every parent read this book about the Autism Society of America so that they can gain insight into how the organization really functions and operates. This is a great read for parents of children with autism as well as anyone wanting to understand how the Autism Society of America and its chapters operate and run things. Here is an excerpt from the book. "While I was in the hospital Dana from the Autism Society of Indiana sent me an email saying that I had suffered from a severe mental illness and that I needed to get help with my mental illness. She said in that email that because I was suffering from a mental illness the Autism Society of America and it's chapters could not help me. The Autism Society of America and it's chapters cannot help people with mental illness because they want to discriminate against people with mental illnesses in my opinion. People with autism and mental illness still have the Autism and therefore are still going to need the help socially and support from the Autism Society of America would still be needed in that situation. The Autism Society has always been very quick to distance themselves from people with autism who have a co diagnosis of mental illness. If you look back at the Autism Society of America's statements after every school shooting or incident that happens when a person with autism commits an act of violence the Autism Society of America actually tries to distance themselves from that person and claim that the person did not have autism. The Autism Society is different than Autism Speaks. Autism Speaks is very interested in finding a cure for people with Autism. Autism Speaks knows the struggle people with Autism face and they are out there constantly looking to try and find a cure so that people with Autism can actually get better and overcome a lot of the social challenges that they have. Autism is not an illness so when I say get better I just mean that they can learn social skills to overcome some of their social challenges and that will help them to get better in the long run. Ever since that time in January 2013 I knew that the Autism Society did not have my best interest in mind and I knew that they were out to get me. The Autism Society of America does not want anything to do with people with Autism who want to learn social skills."
