Cracker 929: In-Flight Refueling

Cracker 929 is the call sign for this plane, a KC-97 flying for the Strategic Air Command stationed in Savannah, Georgia, in 1960. Taylor Young joined the Air Force and after training, became a Crew Chief on this plane for in-flight refueling of B-52's and B-47's. Taylor joined the service for all the right reasons. He wanted an opportunity and a chance to prove himself. He wanted to be able to provide for his future family to allow his wife to be a stay at home mom and not have to work.
