About the Book

Phoenix dactylifera (date or date palm) is a flowering plant species in the palm family Arecaceae, cultivated for its edible sweet fruit. Although its place of origin is unknown because of long cultivation, according to Wilson, it is probably originated from lands around Iraq and south west of Iran. Half of the Fresh dates production belong to Khoozestan and Bein Al-Nahrain, Karoon and Arvand river basins in Iran. Fresh dates areas production dates back to 300 years B.C. Since its great resistance against salty water, Wilson called it the " Life Tree." In this book which is divided to five chapters, different dates varieties and the areas under cultivation of Palm trees are discussed in details. Systematic features, its classifications, cultivation, pollination, its nutrition values, pharmacological features, needed manure and pesticides and the possible fight ways against them are clearly elaborated.

About the Author :
Zohre Sadat Moosavifard: She was born in Jahrom, Fars Province in 1983. She spent her primary education in Jahrom. She was accepted in botany field of study in Payam Noor University, Istahban-Branch. During her education, she studied on different varieties of palm trees; she also studied on different medicinal herbs and their impact on allergy which will be published soon. Her favorite sport activity is tennis, and she tried her hand on drawing and painting.------ Ali Akbar Salehizadeh: He was born in Iran in 1984; after completing his primary education, he was accepted in Surveying and Mapping Engineering in Istahban University and completed his B.S. in Islamic Azad University, Banab-Branch. Then, he continued his higher education in Physical Geography and was accepted in Physical Geography- Climatology, PhD, in 2013. He has written four articles; he published two of them in Iranian journals and two others in Mediterranean Journal of Social Sciences, Italy, May 2015. ------ Saeed Ranjbar: He is a PhD student of Climatology in Islamic Azad university, Najafabad-Branch. He completed his M.Sc. in Agricultural Climatology in Islamic Azad University, Research and Science Branch. He has published 12 papers on various topics on climatology such as drought, natural disasters, precipitation, etc. He has taught several courses such as new Methods in Information Registration, Climatology, Weather and Climate (Gardening and Cultivation), etc. ---- Morteza Khodagholi: He was accepted for B.S. in Range Management in 1986. He continued his M.Sc. in 1993. He completed his PhD in Climatology in 1999. He attended in 40 research activities; in some he was administrative, and in some he was one of colleagues. He attended in 97 conferences presenting posters or lectures. He has published 6 books which he is the author of four and co-author of the two other. The topic of the papers he published concentrates mainly on plant ecology, environment, their ecological features, drought and precipitation. At the present time, he is Associate professor of Agriculture and Natural Resources Center of Isfahan Province. He has received several awards for his first place in researches. -----Ensiye Karimi: She was born in Iran; she passed his primary studies in Jahrom, Fars Province. She was accepted in Applied Chemistry in Payam Noor University, Istahban- Branch. She is Interested in Research activities on chemistry or biology field of study.
