About the Book

This book is for everyone, because we all face life's adversities. Living with adversity is normal and a part of life. When my husband was diagnosed with brain cancer, another challenge was presented to us in life. My acquaintances often remarked about how I dealt with it through the various phases and the demands of surgery, lengthy hospitalizations, uncertainty and therapy. The credit goes to my husband, of course, because he was the one who experienced the illness. But people kept asking me "How do you cope?" It occurred to me that I deal with all problems the same way, whether small or large and it is done in the five distinct steps I share with you in this book. I do not intend to over-simplify situations because life's adversities can be complex and often the answers are not clear or totally satisfactory. This book provides a structured approach to overcoming adversity that gives you five steps to help you with whatever your issues may be. Following these steps will allow you to realize that you are in control of your situation and choices. Five Things to Do When Things Go Wrong, Overcome Adversity by Living with It and Taking Control gives you the essential five steps to overcoming adversity.
