About the Book

My brother moved to Los Angeles chasing dreams of fame and fortune. It wasn't long before he went missing with no clues to his whereabouts. Being Identical twins I went in search of him. What I found not only turned my life upside down but forever changed who I am as a person. Sprack Monkey is a tale of mine and his adventures, how we drifted apart, came together, and compromised who we were. I lived a pretty simple life before my brother had turned it upside down. I wasn't prepared for the depravity of my brother's wake. Sometimes we should just leave well enough alone, but in this case it just wasn't an option. I knew what I had to do, pack my bags, and assume his identity to find the truth. It's a story of love, drugs, sex, family and diminishing self-worth. It's a story of self-realization as well as self-destruction. What I uncovered about my brother was more than I bargained for. West Hollywood on the outside may be charming and alluring but underneath I would discover a poison so potent that it would forever destroy my life. Looks can be deceiving but then again so can my brother.

About the Author :
BoBo Swift grew up in San Diego where he enjoyed the laid back Socal life. Drawn to skateboarding rather than surfing and looking up to his brothers and sister who were notorious for partying, it wasn't long before he started getting into trouble. Being the second youngest of five children wasn't always easy but made for a good time. In his teenage years BoBo would find refuge in the country of Mexico where drinking underage was perfectly acceptable. Upon graduation BoBo was accepted into San Francisco State University but fate would have other plans. Getting lost on his way to an acting class in LA BoBo found himself saying "fuck it." Stressed, lost, and thirsty for adventure he met up with his older brother who lived in LA. His brother just so happened to be staying at the Standard Hotel on Sunset that particular weekend. It was there he was introduced to the glitz and glamour that Los Angeles had to offer and SFSU was no longer an option. After a failed attempt at Cal State Los Angeles, BoBo found himself at Los Angeles Film School. It was there he discovered his passion for writing. After Graduation BoBo started struggling with keeping his sexual identity in the closet and like so many before him started heading down the path of drugs and sex. After a series of unfortunate events he found himself back in San Diego alone, hopeless, and with no direction. After coming out of the closet and facing his HIV diagnosis BoBo decided to check himself into Stepping Stone, a rehabilitation center that caters to the LGBT community. There BoBo would get the clarity, discipline, and tools he needed to complete his first novel Sprack Monkey.
