About the Book

Become the eagle, and take a journey into the past... Joe "Dreaming Hawk" Thomason has no answers for the dreams he's been having. Nor can he explain the strange sense of closeness he feels to the Native American elder who tells the stories by the fire at night for the guests at Windy Mountain Campground and Resort. The elusive story teller has given little information about himself, leaving Al and Naomi Edgewood to wonder about the future of the campground. Yet, it is this air of mystery about him that continues to draw the guests each year. Enter the Wilkerson family. It is approaching summer, and as teachers, Corey and Karen have decided to give their children an educational yet fun vacation. But who is the mysterious Native American mentor Corey meets who advises him to create a path for learning for their children? Indeed the paths of our lives have strange ways of crossing. The Native Americans have long believed that the ancestors guide us. At night, as the guests gather around the fire, the wind seems to blow in whispers, almost like voices in the wind. Little do the Wilkersons know they are about to embark on a journey that will change them forever...

About the Author :
Flossie Hartshorn lives in North Carolina where she enjoys working on her books as well as singing and song writing, and occasionally performing in Country Music Showcase at the local community college. When she isn't writing, she also enjoys spending time with her grandsons and her family, trips to the beach and to the mountains, and loves an evening sitting out by the fire at a cozy log cabin. She holds an Associate's Degree in Office Systems Technology. One of her favorite courses in her curriculum was the Desktop Publishing course. She is very creative and enjoys designing everything from her own greeting cards to whatever she can think of, including her daughter's graduation announcements and business cards, letter heads, etc, for friends. Having Cherokee heritage from both sides of her family, she has spent the last few years learning everything she can about the Native American people. One of her favorite places to visit is Cherokee, NC. She is currently working on other exciting new writing projects, including a heartwarming story about a Siberian husky, set in Big Sky, Montana, which will be completed soon. Having been inspired by her meeting both Nicholas Sparks and Mary McDonough, she is a firm believer that, "if you can dream it, you can do it"! As Walt Disney himself said, "All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them." One of her favorite bible verses is Philippians' 4:13, which her mother made her recite every time she caught her saying, "I can't."
