About the Book

Images of Christ in Genesis, Volume III is the last in Dr. Meyer van Rensburg's best selling series of the hidden Jesus in the book of Genesis. God knows the end from the beginning and therefore has planted seeds in Genesis, "the seed plot of the Bible," that later comes to fruition in the rest of the Word. One image of Christ after another emerges from the mists of antiquity as the author reveals what the Holy Spirit had hidden there for us to find and delight in, like children delighting in finding Easter eggs. Dr. Meyer says: "Jesus is as vividly painted in Genesis as what He is in the Gospels. He is the Alfa and the Omega and He stands as clearly at the beginning of our world in the Garden of Eden in Genesis as He stands at the end in Revelation." In the first volume of this series ten different images of Christ were revealed from the first ten chapters of Genesis in order to illustrate how God has been in control of the writing of the Scriptures from the very beginning. The second volume continued the journey onwards from Genesis eleven to clarify how Jesus was already portrayed in the first book of the Bible as the Baptiser with the Holy Spirit; God's Son; Our High Priest and King; The Living Word; the Heir of the World; and the Well of Living Water. This third volume focuses on the patriarchs and shows how the life stories of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and Joseph were set out in detail by the Holy Spirit to depict in type in the very first book of the Bible that Christ would be The Ladder to Heaven; The Suffering Servant; the Bridegroom and the Saviour of the World. Finally there is the epilogue, entitled "The Glorious Revelation" where we can see how Jesus reveals Himself to us as God, the Son. Each image is well researched but the author connects with the reader in a conversational style to bring forth aspects of the Word that have seldom been seen or discussed. Images of Christ in Genesis contains amazing revelations that every Christian should be aware of and confirms that the Bible is not a book that man could write if he would or would write if he could.

About the Author :
Dr. Meyer van Rensburg was born in the Northern Cape, in South Africa, and spent his youth as a farmer's son, while attending school near Kimberley and later at Brits, near Pretoria. From this background emerges a love for gardening: planting, watering and cultivating seeds. This fits in well with the meaning of his first name: 'sower of seeds.' He also paints in oils and his paintings can be seen at http: //fineartamerica.com/profiles/meyer-van-rensburg.html?tab=artwork Dr. Meyer was born again in 1982 and has been studying God's Word ever since. He attended Bible school in 1985/86 and then continued his studies to obtain five degrees: Bachelor of Theology, Master of Christian Counselling, Master of Divinity, Master in Practical Theology (Bangor, Wales) and Doctor of Ministry. God has called him as a teacher of the Word and he has been sowing spiritual seed for the Lord since then, first as the founder and president of Covenant Bible Training Centre in Johannesburg and as a freelance presenter at Radio Pulpit in South Africa up till 2004. There he presented various programmes such as "Mosaic," "Bible Crossword," "Light before Midnight," "Music and the Word," and also the very popular, "Running the Race," where he interviewed Christian sportsmen on Friday mornings. His previous books are: Brother to Brother, A Handbook for the Study of Covenants; A Dwelling Place for God: A Handbook for the Study of the Tabernacle; God & sons: A Study in the Fatherhood of God; and Images of Christ in Genesis, Volume One and Images of Christ in Genesis, VolumeTwo. He writes extensively, regularly contributing articles to Christian magazines and is also a popular conference speaker. Since 2004 he has been lecturing in the UK, first in Bristol and then in London, where he has also appeared on Christian television from time to time. He travels worldwide and regularly returns to South Africa for teaching tours. He is married to Lorraine, whom he calls Lainie, and they are the proud parents of five daughters. Meyer used to be a sound engineer until he went full-time into the ministry. He paints in oils, writes poetry, does woodwork and gardening. His favourite Scripture is Galatians 2:20: 'I have been crucified with Christ, nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ lives in me: and the life that I now live in the flesh, I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave Himself for me.'
