About the Book

Alex Frost is a normal ten year old girl, living with her parents. When strange events begin to occur around her, he world is flipped on its head. Alex discovers that her family are actually dragons from another world, called Overearth, that are in hiding on Earth from an evil dragon named Balaur. Now, Balaur has found a way to enter the realm of Earth and the children dragons who have been hidden from him for many years have begun to disappear. The council of dragons on Earth has decided that they must come out of hiding and the children must be trained for their own protection. As they cannot reveal themselves in the human world, the children are taken to hidden sactuaries on Overearth for training. Alex and the other children will be taught how to fly, breath fire, change their form and, later, how to use dragon magic. At the sanctuary, Alex discovers that a friend from her school, Raj Sheesha, is also a child-dragon. She meets many other children at the sanctuary all of whom have been having similar experiences as her. Together with Raj and the other children, Alex learns her dragon skills from their dragon-teacher, Erbas. During one visit to the sanctuary, Alex sneaks her best friend, Lilly, across with the help of Raj. Alex's parents discover what she has done and immediately take Lilly back to the human world, as it is against the laws to bring a human across to Overearth. When the sanctuary is attacked, Alex is devastated when in a case of mistaken identity, Lilly is taken by a traitorous dragon named Zmey Gorynych. Alex again disobeys orders and leaves the sanctuary with Raj to search for Lilly. The two children proceed on an adventure across a strange world, under mountains, through a forest and eventually they come under attack by evil dragons. They are rescued by their teacher-dragon, Erbas, who helps them reach the Citadel where Lilly is being held."
