About the Book

Fatima died as the last stone cast by her father struck her half buried body. Her final painful moments were further saddened over not living to see and love he newly born identical twin sons. Sons who were separated after her demise; sons who never knew they had a brother or that each of them was adopted. One of the twins Mahmoud was raised and educated in London by a wealthy Muslim family. The other Matafi grew up in the streets of Cairo and became the leader of a criminal syndicate. In his late teens he joined a terrorist group led by an unseen entity named "Osiris," whose goal was to forcefully convert mankind to his radical version of Islam. In Iraq a young army Lieutenant Rizgar al-Bashar was the son of a high ranking Iraqi army general. He was sent on an inspection tour of Halabja, Iraq. Under a direct order from Saddam Hussein this city had been mercilessly bombed by the Iraqi air force. This scene of horror, committed devastated Rizgar who defected by entering the Royal Military Academy in Sandhurst, England. At the academy Rizgar befriended training officer Colonel Bryan Archibald. The Colonel quickly understood Rizgar's outstanding intellect and physical capabilities and soon convinced Rizgar to become a double agent for MI6. He was tasked to secretly spy on the Iraqi military through his unsuspecting father and to help fight the Osiris terrorist organization. The terrorists plan was to implement a series of increasingly deadly attacks against the western world culminating with multiple nuclear explosions in major cities. They believed these actions would generate mass fear and terror leading to the demise of western civilizations and the rise of an all encompassing Islamic state. The ending presents a dramatic sequence of unexpected events.

About the Author :
Mr. Shaw was raised in Colorado Springs, Colorado where he graduated from Palmer High school. Upon graduation he joined the Marines and spent 4 years in active duty, during the Korean war. After receiving an honorable discharge Clyde attended the University of Denver and graduated with a degree in Physics and a minor in mathematics. Following graduation he was employed by Lockheed Missile Systems Corp., at the research labs in Palo Alto CA. His tasks were to establish a laboratory for the spectral measurement and analysis of surfaces utilized in space craft coatings and materials. While in this position he wrote many technical articles, proposals, manuals and reports. Clyde was elected as president of Northern California section of the Optical Society of America where he served for two terms. During this period he set up a program at Foothill College, in Los Altos CA for training Electro-Photo Optical technicians. He directed and taught in this program for three years. Subsequently, Clyde worked for NASA and then founded a company by the name of Particle Technology, Inc. The equipment developed for this company could automatically measure the number (in a continuous stream), and the size, of micron sized particles in liquid or aerosol samples. This program also required utilization of the writing skills described above. This effort led to the development of an automatic differential white blood cell counter that identified and counted the various types of white cells in a sample. The company was sold to Coulter Electronics of Hialeah, FL. Upon retirement Mr. Shaw began writing in earnest. He has written 2 novels and is currently working on a third. A second edition of the novel "The Osiris Connection" has recently been published.
