About the Book

During World War II, hundreds of thousands of American men and women were killed serving their country, and millions more were wounded. Some suffered afflictions to their bodies, while others were left with broken hearts or spirits. Many suffered injuries to all three. Robert Ferguson was wounded during battle at Koblenz, and his heart shattered into a million pieces when he learned that his longtime sweetheart and fellow military member Marilyn Hollister never made it back from her latest mission and was presumed captured or dead. His spirits, too, were broken...until they were mended by the possibility that maybe, just maybe, Marilyn was still alive. "Moptop and the Sergeant" chronicles the incredible love between Robert and Marilyn and how it thrived and persevered through the unthinkable. This story of lovers separated and reunited despite the odds is told by way of Robert's reflection, and it follows their relationship through the Great Depression, World War II, and the years after. Rich with history and intense passion, "Moptop and the Sergeant" is sure to appeal to fans of historical romance and will touch the heart of any and all who read it.
