About the Book
A surgeon charged with double homicide is out to clear his name in this debut thriller from the USA Today-bestselling author of the Karen Veil series. Dr. Phillip Madison has everything: wealth, power, and an impeccable reputation. But in the pre-dawn hours of a quiet California suburb, the revered orthopedic surgeon is charged with double homicide--a cold-blooded hit-and-run that has left an innocent young couple dead. Blood evidence has brought the police to his door. An eyewitness has placed him at the crime scene . . . and Madison has no alibi. With his family torn apart, his career forever damaged, no way to prove his innocence, and facing life in prison, Madison hires an investigator to find the person who has engineered the case against him.
As his privileged world is brought crashing down by a psychotic seductress, as family and friends abandon him, Madison's only hope for vindication rests in revealing a truth at the heart of a lie. It is a disclosure that could cost him more than he ever imagined.
False Accusations is a psychological thriller that instantly became a national bestseller and launched Alan Jacobson's career, a novel that spurred CNN to call him "one of the brightest stars in the publishing industry."
About the Author :
Alan Jacobson is the national bestselling author of several critically acclaimed novels. In order to take readers behind the scenes to places they might never go, Jacobson has embedded himself in many federal agencies, including spending several years working with two senior profilers at the Federal Bureau of Investigation's vaunted Behavioral Analysis Unit in Quantico. During that time, Jacobson edited four published FBI research papers on serial offenders, attended numerous FBI training courses, worked with the head firearms instructor at the academy, and received ongoing personalized instruction on serial killers--which continues to this day. He has also worked with high-ranking members of the Drug Enforcement Administration, the US Marshals Service, the New York Police Department, SWAT teams, local bomb squads, branches of the US military, chief superintendents and detective sergeants at Scotland Yard, criminals, armorers, helicopter pilots, chief executive officers, historians, and Special Forces operators. These experiences have helped him to create gripping, realistic stories and characters. His series protagonist, FBI profiler Karen Vail, resonates with both female and male readers, and writers such as Nelson DeMille, James Patterson, and Michael Connelly have called Vail one of the most compelling heroes in suspense fiction. Jacobson's books have been published internationally, and several have been optioned for film and television. A number have been named to Best of the Year lists.
Jacobson has been interviewed extensively on television and radio, including on CNN, NPR, and multiple ABC, CBS, NBC, and Fox network affiliates.

This is a terrific book!" --John Saul, New York Times-bestselling author "False Accusations will grip you from the opening page to the . . . astonishing last paragraph. A great murder mystery. "Phillip Madison, a wealthy and generous surgeon, finds himself the target of a vengeful woman looking for a quick dollar. Brittany Harding was fired for her bad attitude and insensitivity to the clients of the Consortium for Citizens with Mental Retardation. She blames Madison and retaliates with accusations of assault, sexual harassment, and rape. The pressure is such that her extortion of fifty thousand dollars works. The discovery that Brittany has done this before results in her having to return the money, whereupon she relaunches her hate campaign. When two people are victims of a hit-and-run and all physical evidence points to Phillip, he asks Jeffrey Hellman, his attorney, and Ryan Chandler, a friend and ex-policeman, to prove that Brittany has set him up again. The piecing together of facts that the police have overlooked results in a suspenseful and intriguing tale. First-novelist Jacobson writes with the confidence of firsthand courtroom experience.
