About the Book

Some stories are timeless, thanks to the wisdom they impart. With this clever series, Aesop's tales take on a new spin through music. Classic Fables in Rhythm and Rhymes gives young readers a multisensory way to determine these stories' important morals. The relatable animal characters are brought to life through graphic style action-packed illustrations. And memorable lyrics make the stories, and the life lessons they offer, easy to remember.

About the Author :
Blake A. Hoena grew up in central Wisconsin, where he wrote stories about robots conquering the moon and trolls lumbering around the woods behind his parents house. He now lives in Minnesota and continues to write about fun things like space aliens and superheroes. Blake has written more than fifty chapter books and graphic novels for children. Originally from China, Lisk Feng is an award-winning freelance illustrator based New York. She received her MFA in Illustration Practice from the Maryland Institute College of Art in 2014 and has won awards from Communication Arts and the Society of illustrators, among others. Her clients include the United Nations, New York Times, Abrams Books, and Scientific American. See more of her work at liskfeng.com. Beth Hughes is an artist who loves animals, nature, and bright colors. She enjoys playing around with colors and shapes and, most of all, telling great stories. She studied at Ringling College of Art and Design and Sheridan College. In the past she has done character design, visual development, and illustration work, and she now works as a freelance illustrator. Freelance illustrator Jen Khatun is a graduate of Southampton Solent University. Based in beautiful South East England, she spends most of her time in big, cozy sweaters, scribbling another adventure on her pages, with a cup of tea as her loyal companion. Jen's work combines themes of nature, wildlife, and the element of magic sprinkled into everyday life. Tim Palin has been drawing ever since he can remember. On road trips as a kid, he drew monsters in the back of the car. In high school, he'd stay up all night drawing cartoon dinosaurs. In his college years, he took drawing and sketching classes. After many years away from drawing, he's back and has been devoting his drawing time to children's publishing and he loves every minute of it! He says, "I create daily sketches to keep my mind sharp and play with new shapes and techniques. Whether, it's a ladybug or a baseball or a ladybug playing baseball, I 'make stuff' every day!" Flavia Sorrentino lives and works as a freelance illustrator in Rome, where she grew up. She loves her city and the figure of speech, "Rome wasn't built in a day", which inspires her each day to seek new ways of communication and expression. She has worked hard on her technique which has taken her across the globe, from France to America and beyond! She has a true passion for Toulouse Lautrec, poetry, historical costume, typography, Tina Turner and tomato sauce! Dean Jones is a Grammy award-winning producer, multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, composer, blueberry picker, and lover of life. He's released fifteen CDs for kids, solo and with his band Dog on Fleas, but is proudest of his work producing compilation CDs that have raised over $100,000 for Haiti, girls' science education, and LGBTQ youth. Find out more at www.dogonfleas.com. Since moving to Minneapolis in 2009, Erik Koskinen has amassed a following as a musician, songwriter, producer, and engineer. With experience stemming from years of traveling north to south and coast to coast, Koskinen taps those adventures and encounters in music sprouted from a blend of American folk, country, rock-n-roll, and blues. Mark Oblinger is an award-winning songwriter, composer, producer, and performer. He cowrote and produced the Grammy-nominated children's jazz symphony JumpinJazz Kids: A Swinging Jungle Tale and has won five Heartland Emmy Awards for his work as a composer/producer for the PBS children's show The Big Green Rabbit and the short films Yesterday's Zoo and The Sea I See.
