About the Book

Entertaining and self help short stories. Parallel, is a word referring to an action which occurs or is made at the same time along with another action; is the name that I wanted to give to this work, for the stories that I here narrate, are events of my life that go parallel to the story developing on my first book, "Roots in the Air. My story." The difference between both books is pretty wide, for in "Roots in the Air. My story," the complete narrative comes entirely from my memories; it is to say, the things my mind remembered. And the narrative that I use in this book comes 80% from my writings which I compiled from one and another place in order to extend the ones that I considered were the most amazing stories of my life or that in a way had the importance for me to take the time to write them down. Also, this book reflects the need of extending myself with details and describes in a much richer way the things that I was not able to expand in "Roots in the Air. My story." On the other hand I consider that this book is being brought to life with a less formal air and a little bit more freedom, for I do not intend to stick to the real dates or to give a continual story. Instead these are completely independent stories from its preceding book and they are, to my judgment, stories told with a lot of realism, rawness and without the candy outfit of lots of words and events. I am telling everything just as it happened; just as I lived it; and just the way I wrote it in its due moment. "Roots in the Air. My story" and "Parallel" can be read separately and do not constitute a sequel or a complement of each other; nevertheless, I consider that reading them both can help to fill some of the voids that one or the other have. As always, I try to remain spontaneous and not being guided by any literary structure. I write more as a way of venting and necessity than anything else. Being this the work that carries a large piece of me in it, I give it to you with a lot of hope, so you will be entertained for a while with my naive ideas and pure craziness. A man should not hide its essence from the world, for that is the only thing which belongs to us and it's the only thing which tells us apart from the rest of human beings. In this book I present myself to you in my bad moments, in the worst ones and in the not so shabby ones. In this book I show myself just as the person I once was in certain specific stages of my life, and some of the moments that created the man that I am today. Therefore, this book is the key to a corner of my memories and a piece of my soul. This is a book that says a lot between the lines, very similar to when I write a poem where I try to express myself without being too obvious about my feelings and I try to hide them a little bit in the entanglement of the words. Expect that on this work; on the contrary, is all naked for you to read. Parallel is a book simple in composition and filled with intricate emotions.
