About the Book

In modern day America, the influence of the Italian mafia seems to have decreased. After the advent of 9/11, the FBI and CIA have shifted their energy from locking up members of big Italian crime families to the pursuit of foreign terrorist. The godfather ideology, Italian brotherhood ideology and the mafia all seem to be a thing of the past. The mafia, in turn, have shifted from most of their criminal activity to legitimate businesses. They are now basking in unbelievable amount of wealth as they launder their money through big time New York Stock Exchange investments. Meanwhile, the crimes that occur now in America are perpetuated by petty gangs and drug cartels, there is no doubt that the mafia still has a behind the scenes control over it. New York's mafia royal family, the Olivettis, are benefactors of a tree of wealth planted by seeds of past crimes. Although they are still under the watchful eye of old rival families, they still manage to keep their business behind the public eye. Time and time again, they have been forced to go back to past methods of handling business and are therefore referred to as white collar thugs. In this mob thriller, grandson of notorious Italian mafia Don, Tom Olivetti, decides to leave a peaceful high school life to avenge the attempted assassination of his father. His decisions lead to a ripple effect that endangers the life of his high school sweetheart, his family and exposes his real identity. As time goes by, he realizes the history of his family and the dangers they have faced is only the inception.
