About the Book

A prank by university students enjoying a night out in a pub upsets a powerful individual from abroad and damages his prospects for academic recognition. The incident ignites a bizarre plot that entangles many local personalities in a web of conspiracy, murder and drug crime. This captivating novel is set at a time of momentous transition in Oxford, as the old regime of learning in the late 1970's gives way to the new. How much damage will be done to the rich and timeless tapestry of college life in the city as the story reaches its spectacular climax?

About the Author :
Born in Lancashire in 1935, Joyce Collinson moved with her family to London in 1945. Winning a Junior Scholarship to St. Martin's School of Art, graduating in 1954, she then trained as a singer. She was also a teacher, including a notable spell at Holloway Prison where she staged several musical productions, an experience she very much enjoyed. She sang with the Philharmonia Chorus as she began her solo career, benefitting greatly from this unique experience. She worked alongside some legendary figures such as Maria Callas. After singing in Oxford, she was appointed Director of Music at St. Aloysius' Church, spending several productive years there. During this time she founded the Radcliffe Singers, specialising in Tudor music, her great love. Having done work for some distinguished writers, she has been encouraged by them to write. Requiem for Oxford is one of a trilogy that she is working on. Hitherto, her written work has been largely academic papers, plus intelligence, and newspaper articles. Having had a lifetime's close connection with intelligence, latterly she has found herself in a position to advise on matters relevant to National Security. She lives in Oxford.
