About the Book

HAVE YOU EVER WANTED TO RUN AWAY FROM YOUR LIFE? Disheartened with her advertising job, Eve Breitner, does just that when she moves to a rural intentional community--formerly known as the infamous hippie commune-- in North Carolina to share its idealism and property. This Blue Moon Community was founded on a constitution and had purpose of advancing environmental causes and political equality. Soon she wonders if the nobility of this ecological, egalitarian goal will offset the hardship of living below the poverty level. While Eve loves the beautiful setting and her country jobs, can she make the adjustment to be so radical? The community works to toughen the women and soften the men. Sexism is turned on its head with aggressive feminism. But then Eve meets Paolo, an Italian political radical who is fed up with sharing and softening. He is about to leave the community, but Eve has just arrived. Will the two connect deeply enough before Paolo has to leave for his home and leave her behind? He courts Eve with a passion and forces her into a decision between a monogamist relationship with him or living with this alternative society. How far will Eve stray from the past she knows while exploring these new paths? Either choice will take her into unknown territory. Fallen Far from the Tree shares Eve's adventure as she searches for relevance and love in her life. Read more about the author and the book. That is, her fits and starts trying to write this novel. She alternates summers with gardening and winters with writing, except when she quits because writing is just too isolating to deal with. Next, Lilith intends to write her mother's story, an orphan who grew up in the Depression.
