About the Book

Christian Inspirational Poetry Sample: Teach me the virtue of my cross, Teach me the value of my thorn; Lord, oft' I thank You for Your own, Yet praise departs while I am torn. Instruct my heart now tear by tear, Reminding me of each Your own; How, drop by drop, Your love did yearn, And how by blood Your peace was sown. Lord, I've counted costs like bargains, Charging desires against Your pain; Never chasing, never daring Greater works for the Kingdom's gain. Enlarge the boarders of my heart And send the Word to fallow ground; Breaking up the doubt-filled places, Crush to dust all idols found. Grant me burden's faithful stewards, Peace in the midst of ev'ry storm; Teach me the virtue of my cross, Teach me the value of my thorn.

About the Author :
Since the age of 4, I've been fascinated by words, their meanings and their sounds. Friday night was music night in my home, where us kids were laid out on the floor while my dad played the music of the times. While my brothers fell asleep, I laid there enthralled by the harmony between the lyrics and the melodies. Though my reading comprehension was at a 9th grade level in the 3rd grade, I had a phobia of writing and speaking of my thoughts and feelings, so I would listen to and read those of others instead. I was a silent person most of my life, and hoped for the day that I could speak heart to heart and mind to mind with others. It's painful to remember all of the times people would say to me that I was a good listener...If they only knew how isolated I felt. I was 21 years old when I became a Christian. One of my first requests of God was to be given the talent to write beautiful poetry, so I could use it to show the beauty of His faith and love. Three years later, which included 18 months after the death of my younger brother; a time during which I stopped praying; one night I cried out to God to deliver me from the devastation I felt in my heart. He gave me a vision of an infant - Plump and content. When I asked who the child was, He answered that it was me, and I cried myself to sleep that night. The following morning I prayed again, and when showering I began to sing in tongues. When I stopped, the Holy Spirit told me to sing in English and He would give me the interpretation. This happened three consecutive mornings until I had completed one song. The song is in my book, and is titled "A Servant's Song." I tried to duplicate the effort of writing a poem/song for six years. Unfortunately, at the beginning, I still had a phobia of seeing myself on paper. Fortunately, I did find in Free Verse freedom from having to be concrete and cogent. A friend at the time called it "Stream of Consciousness Gobblygook." Despite the sting of my friend's derision, I was free to play with words, and at the end I overcame my phobia. So, 6 years after my initial request, I awoke from a dream in which I set fire to all of those "Stream of Consciousness Gobblygook" poems, and I threw them all away. Minutes later, I felt an urgency to write what I was feeling in a curious quiet contemplation. That poem is also in my book, and is titled "Great Gain." I hope for all God's best for you, and I hope to meet you in my poems, Marc Libidinsky
