About the Book

This little book is written in a simple, easily understandable style. The animals do the talking and tell their individual stories. Each and every one comes from the street. They speak for the thousands that didn't find a safe home-that died on the street as road-kill, or simply starved to death for lack of food and water-for which we, the humans, shall be held accountable. This book hopes to give comfort and courage to the disabled and to anyone hurting or grieving in body and spirit. It hopes to alleviate the loss-when it invariably comes-and reminds one in all, what life is all about. Till we meet again. Auf ein wiedersehen. A viszont latasra."

About the Author :
Alice A. James went to grammar school at Holy Angels Academy in Fort Lee, New Jersey. She received her baccalaureate in ancient and modern languages including Writing at Academie Sainte-Croix in Fribourg, Switzer- land, after which she studied medicine at the University of Bern, Switzerland. Trained in anesthesiology at the University Hospital, Inselspital, she became Co-Director of the Department of Anesthesiology of the Regional Hospital in Burgdorf in Emmental for 10 years. The department also serviced the smaller hospitals of Sumiswald and Langnau. Although a foreigner, she had the unique privilege of being a member of the Swiss Medical Association (FMH). Retired since 1998, and residing in south Florida, she now applies all her strength to the cause of tortured, abused, and abandoned animals, like her mother did before her.
