About the Book

Players: 2-6 Ages: 10+ Playing Time: 20-40 minutes Contents: Playing board, 60 cards, 52 prestige tokens, 6 player figures, Emperor figure Every year the Emperor walks through the Imperial Gardens to greet the spring, every year he stops beneath the sakura trees, and every year you try to paint his picture. This will be your year. Artists from near and far will step over their rivals to be closest to the Emperor as he reaches the cherry blossoms, hoping to paint a portrait that will please him. However, should one of them accidentally bump into the Emperor, they would be sure to earn his ire! Sakura is a light tactical game of pushing your luck, and pushing your friends. Each player will simultaneously decide how far to move both their character and the Emperor. The player closest to the Emperor when the cherry blossoms are reached will gain a huge amount of prestige, but if you push too far you risk bumping into the Emperor and walking away in disgrace.

Review :
"Put a ring on it! I'm all in on this game." - Married with Board Games "Elegant. Engaging. Entertaining. Enlightened. A true 4x game." - Mike Paschal, Buyer, Peachstate Hobby Distribution (PHD) "Cute, clever, and well done. ... A lovely games for folks to enjoy as part of a family get-together." - The Dice Tower "Play this as a fun, light party game or filler and have fun keeping the pace lively. We enjoyed it and will definitely play it again, and the design and graphics definitely added to the game." - Go Fatherhood "...it's chaotic, silly, and great with a rowdy crowd." - Nerd Much "GeekDad approved! Sakura is a great palate cleanser between longer, more serious games. It plays well on game night. I took Sakura along to one of our regular sessions, which has a variety of gamers from novice to serious. It was a universal hit. My children have played and enjoyed Sakura. Because the mechanics of the game are easily explained, it's accessible for younger players too. All in all, Sakura is a great small box game that bears many repeat plays. It's good enough for me to consider it GeekDad Approved." - GeekDad "...when the group can handle a little mayhem and doesn't feel like a brain drain, Sakura is a great choice." - iSlaytheDragon "A great game...and it's going on the top shelf of my collection.... Probably my favorite Reiner Knizia game." - Boardgames & Bourbon "...look into this one if you want to play with your family..." - Würfel Reviews "Great for beginners and medium game players." - Draft House Games "...if you enjoy "gotcha" games, you'll love Sakura." - SAHM Reviews "...my kind of filler. Simple to teach and, beautiful components, and a fun [game]." - Edo's Game Reviews
