About the Author :
Antonio D. Masegosa received a degree in Computer Engineering in 2005 and a PhD degree in Computer Sciences in 2010 from the School of Computer and Telecommunications Engineering, University of Granada, Spain. From 2010 he has been working as a post-doc researcher in the Center for ICT of the University of Granada. He has published one book and more than 20 papers in leading scientific journals, international and national conferences. He has participated in a wide variety of research projects including, Applicability of the Soft Computing in Advance Technology Environments: Sustainability and Intelligent Software Platform for Unification of Police Services . He has attended to numerous national and international conferences and he has been member of the organizing committee of the VI Nature Inspired Cooperative Strategies for Optimization Conference (NICSO2013). His research interest includes Intelligent Systems, Soft Computing, Metaheuristics, Cooperative Strategies for Optimization and Technology Foresight among others. Pablo J. Villacorta received his M.S. degree in Informatics in 2009, his M.S. in Statistics in 2012 and his M.S. in Soft Computing and Intelligent Systems in 2010 from the University of Granada, Spain. He is currently pursuing his PhD degree within the Models of Decision and Optimization Research Group, in the Department of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence, University of Granada. He has published over a dozen of papers in national and international conferences and international journals. Recently, his PhD thesis proposal was awarded the GENIL Prize to the most promising thesis proposal in the 2011 Conference of the Spanish Association for Artificial Intelligence (CAEPIA). His research interests include soft computing, metaheuristics, adversarial decision making, and game theory. Carlos Cruz-Corona received a MS degree in Electronic Engineering in 1986 from the Central University of Las Villas, Cuba; and a PhD degree in Computer Sciences from the University of Granada, Granada, Spain, in 2005. He is a Lecturer at Department of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence (DECSAI), University of Granada, Spain. He has published several scientific and technical papers in leading scientific journals. He has served on many international program committees and has attended numerous national and international conferences, congresses, and workshops. He has participated in a variety of national and international research and educational projects. His current scientific interests are Soft Computing, fuzzy sets and systems, decision support systems, metaheuristic algorithms, and nature inspired systems. M. Socorro García-Cascales received an M.S. degree in Industrial Engineering and a Ph.D. degree in Industrial Engineering from the Technical University of Cartagena, Murcia, Spain in 2009. She received the Technical University of Cartagena’s doctorate award in 2010. She is a Professor in the Department of Electronic Computer Architecture and Project Engineering (DETCP) of the Technical University of Cartagena, and a member of the Models of Decision and Optimization (MODO) Research Group of the University of Granada, Spain. She has published twelve papers in scientific journals of impact; ten chapters of books. She has more than forty publications in national and international congresses. She is currently involved in a research project on Applicability of Soft Computing in Advanced Technology Environments: Sustainability. Her current scientific interests are soft computing, fuzzy sets and systems, decision support systems, applications in engineering projects and renewable energy. María T. Lamata received a M.S. degree in mathematics and a Ph.D. degree in sciences from the University of Granada, Spain, in 1975 and 1986, respectively. She is a full Professor at Department of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence (DECSAI), University of Granada, Spain, and director of the Models of Decision and Optimization (MODO) Research Group. She has published more than 150 scientific and technical papers in leading scientific journals, and has been Advisor of 4 Ph.D. dissertations. She has served on many international program committees and has attended numerous national and international conferences, congresses, and workshops. She has been Principal Investigator in a variety of national and international research and educational projects. She currently lead two research projects on “Quality solution evaluation using Soft Computing Techniques: Applications ” and on “Viability of the applications of Soft Computing to Sustainable Areas ”. Apart from this she is currently involved in a research project on “Applicability of the Soft Computing in Advanced Technology Environments: Sustainability ”. She also is a member of the Editorial Board of the International Journal of Uncertainty, Fuzziness and Knowledge-Based Systems. Her current scientific interests are Soft Computing, fuzzy sets and systems, OWA operators, decision support systems, and linguistic labels. José L. Verdegay received the MS degree in mathematics and the PhD degree in sciences from the University of Granada, Granada, Spain, in 1975 and 1981, respectively. He is a full Professor at Department of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence (DECSAI),University of Granada, Spain, Director of the Models of Decision and Optimization (MODO) Research Group, Coordinator of the Master on Soft Computing between University of Granada and Universidad Central Marta Abreu de las Villas (Cuba)” and Delegate of the Rector for ICT in University of Granada. He has published eleven books and more than 250 scientific and technical papers in leading scientific journals, and has been Advisor of 13 PhD dissertations. He has served on many international program committees and has attended numerous national and international conferences, congresses, and workshops. He has been Principal Researcher in a variety of national and international research and educational projects. He has much experience in the evaluation of the quality of academic institutions. He has been member and President of a number of committees with the European Training Foundation and the Spanish Ministry of Education. He also is a member of the Editorial Board of several international leading journals. He has been Chairman of DECSAI (1990–1994), President of the Spanish Association for Fuzzy Logic and Technologies (1990–1996), Advisor for Intelligent Technologies of the Spanish Science Inter- Ministry Commission (1995–1996), and Director of International Affairs at the University of Granada (1996–2000). His current scientific interests are Soft Computing, fuzzy sets and systems, decision support systems, metaheuristic algorithms, nature inspired systems, and bioinformatics.
