About the Book

This book will show you how to identify and promote a specialty. A specialist position will set you apart from your competition and help you grow your business in ways no generalist can. Whether you're a small to mid-sized business that's been around for years or an entrepreneur preparing to launch your business, the St. Bernard Principle is worth considering. It's an opportunity to position your business as a specialist and leave generalists back in the pack.

About the Author :
Paul Welsh has founded or co-founded six businesses. One business he co-founded started from scratch and employed 75 people when he sold to his partners.Three of the six businesses remain in existence and only one went belly up. The latter taught Welsh that you learn from your time as a mutt as well as being a St. Bernard. When you go belly up you can't wait around for someone to scratch your tummy. Welsh has been an advocate for small business and entrepreneurism since 1979, almost two years before co-founding his first business. That was his focus when he served on the Board of the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce. He served on the Small Business Public Relations Committee and chaired Small Business Brain Exchange. Welsh was a founding Board member of the Metropolitan Entrepreneurs Council with people like Neil Patterson, co-founder of Cerner, and Marvin Manlove, a founding principal 360 Architecture. Welsh has testified before state legislatures on small business issues.
